We stayed here over memorial day weekend. I only gave it a 6 because its really only a large gravel parking lot. It does smell like horses but its right next to a lot of horse stables. It really wasn't that bad when we were there. Only noticed when we first arrived or when returning from wine tasting. This is a great location to get you into wine country if you are bringing along a toad. It was clean and did the trick for a place to stay. You wouldn't sit around and hang out here as its not exactly a "resort". The neighborhood on the drive in seems a little sketchy but beyond that it was fine. We will stay here again.
My wife and two boys stayed here for a week in July. We were pleasantly surprised with the park. It was nice. We stayed here in a 32 ft motorhome and they put us in a site that was probably better suited for a smaller class-c RV. There seems to be people living here full time or at least semi-permanent but their trailers and RVs were all in good shape and things were clean. The people we saw around were very nice. We had nice patch of grass on our site which was nice to hang out on and play catch or just sit around. The bathrooms and showers were in decent shape. This was in a pretty good location in relation to Pismo Beach and about 10-15 minutes from Avila Beach which is much better than Pismo in my opinion. We would stay here again.
This place has/had potential. We were one of a handful of RVs an/or tent trailers. Every site around us was filled with tents, at least 3-4 tents with 10 people or more. Dogs running everywhere barking like crazy. The place was loud into the late night then loud early in the morning. We were here on 4th of July weekend so maybe it was more busy because of the Holiday. We will not plan to stay here again. Really too bad because it is right in the heart of Healdsburg wine country.
We went here just to check it out and were very surprised at how nice the place is. We had a nice site that had grass. The bar and restaurant was very nice. We also brought our boat. The docks were lighted and looked very new. The facility is gated and seemed to be secure. On the negative side the boat launch ramp will require you to pay them to launch your boat with their tractor or bring along a a truck to launch. My boat trailer has surge brakes and their tractor did not have the right trailer wire harness adapter that would disengage the brake when reversing down the ramp so this took time to deal with but eventually we got it the boat in. We would stay here again.
We stayed here over our kids' spring break. We were here during the week Tuesday and left on a Sat. During the week it was very family oriented. The campground was quiet during the week. The bathrooms, shower, and dish cleaning area were clean. Our site was right on the river which was very nice. There was a nice meadow where we flew kites and played catch. Would recommend getting a site across the bridge if you can. This is where we stayed, and it seemed a lot nicer. On the negative side the sites are very close together. When Friday came folks showed up for the weekend, and the campground was loud well into the night. No quiet time enforced. Pulling into the campground was not easy. There is a very tight turn at the bottom of the driveway. Our RV is 32 feet and I was able to make the turn with some maneuvering. There is now sewer hookup. We would stay here again but would avoid the weekends and would try to get a site on the other side of the bridge.
