Very basic, just a spot with water, sewer, and electric, but quiet and well-maintained. The campground hosts are very friendly and have a lot of tourist information available. The real draw is that there is a Park and Ride BART station about 10 minutes drive away and it takes you straight into downtown San Francisco in less than an hour.
I stayed here for 4 days. A real gem and great value for the price. Well-maintained and quiet, with nice shaded and private sites. It is a great location for visiting Monterey (30 minutes drive) on the coast or hiking the Pinnacles National Monument (50 minutes drive).
I full-time and have stayed 10 weeks at Golden Shore in the past year. The best thing about this park is the location. It is a snap to go to LA or Orange County, or just enjoy Long Beach. A bike/walking path runs by the park and you are just minutes from the Aquarium, Rainbow Harbour, Catalina Island Ferry. It is very easy to bicycle to Belmont Shore, Naples, or Seal Beach and enjoy the beach and ocean views. It is also the best place to stay during the Grand Prix in April. The park is older but very well-maintained and staff are friendly. There are quite a few full-time residents and the hot tub is good for socializing in the evenings. Park is quiet and secure with a keypad access entry gate activated in the evening.
