Very enjoyable stay, except for island traffic. The park is clean and manicured. Very nice location. Wi-Fi and cable TV work well. The dog didn't like to walk on the roads, as the surface has a peaked texture to it that hurt his feet. Will stay again when in the area.
Well kept nice park. Many ants and bugs, made it tough to enjoy being outside. My premium site, while level, was quite small but seemed to be the exception to the rule. Cable was fuzzy with minimal channels and Wi-Fi was on the slow side. Sewer was a good 40' from the coach and uphill a bit. Nice location and easy to get to with decent restaurants in the area. The Italian joint just outside the park is quite good.
Really nice place. Would rate a 10 if the sites were a little bigger and more level. Some sites are way too pitched. Noticed a few units with both back wheels off the ground in an effort to get level. Wi-fi is excellent, and the park is immaculate.
We like this park. It's quiet and relaxing, and the dog loves to swim in the pond. The owners could be a little more friendly than they were. In no way are they rude, but they don't act like they enjoy the park much.
Very pretty park. The grounds are perfect and the ponds are clear and clean. Smallish pool for a park this size but all other facilities are wonderful. One of the quieter resorts I've ever been to. It seemed the sidewalks rolled up at 8PM. It's an over 55 park, but there were a few, well behaved children around.
Very fine resort. Management is very nice and works hard to get everyone involved in activities. Pool/clubhouse area is wonderful. The park is still very new and some of the grass isn't 100% yet but they take very good care of the property. In 5 years, this will be top of the line. Only complaint is the lack of cable TV. Other than that, this is a great place.
I live in the area and happened to drive through today. They are doing a massive upgrade to the facility that is supposed to be done in May of 2008. They added a new street and look to be upgrading the services on an estimated 50 sites to full hookups. thats the good news. The bad news is that they probably only have 20 electric only sites available until it's done.
We are long time customers here and have stayed here monthly many times. Unfortunately, I have to agree with the last few reviews. Of late, the park seems to be poorly run and the employees have poor attitudes. You can just tell that they are going to say no before you even make a request. They promise things that they don't follow up on also. A few weeks ago, they had me move from a riverfront to an interior site claiming that they had made a mistake giving me one as they had committed the whole riverfront. The site I was moved from stayed vacant the whole weekend (as did 4 others). When questioned about it they just shrugged their shoulders and didn't offer an explanation. One of the girls later admitted that there was no reason we had to move. BTW, they do have Wi-Fi but I have yet to be able to get it to work. The system won't let me acquire a network address
This is a new park that hasn't yet started to advertise because they are not fully functional yet. They have started on the pool and volleyball court and anticipate finishing them within a few weeks. I never asked about their plans for WiFi. All sites have concrete pads and the roads are paved. They have done a great job so far and all their work is top notch. The park could use some more plantings to provide some shade. The owners are very nice people and go out of their way to take care of you. I'll be back.
Never stayed here and won't. I made a reservation in Feb of 2008 for the w/e of 7/12/2008. Was never told of the "no refund" policy. I called today, 6 weeks prior to the stay, and was told that they could only give me a "credit" good for that amount at any of their other parks. I explained that the closest park of theirs is almost 500 miles away and a credit won't do me any good. While they are pleasant (the reason for the 2 rating), they just ran me up the chain of command hoping I'd give up. They don't know me very well! I have a personal policy that prohibits me from doing business with companies that steal from me. They are trying to, and they won't ever see another dime of my money.
Some beautiful spots but the nice ones don't have 50 amp service. Busy place, especially on a holiday weekend, but that's to be expected. I was promised a 50 amp site, but didn't get one. To be honest, my 30 amp site was far superior to the really tight 50 amp sites but their attitude could have been better. As far as I know, there is no cable TV here. Try the diner right at the entrance for breakfast. great food and selection.
Fine park with a mixture of modular homes and camping. Nice facilities (wonderful pool and surrounding area). People seemed nice but we weren't there long enough (one night) to really tell. Easy access from the highway but far enough away so there is no noise. Take your map when walking (I left bread crumbs but my Lab ate em) as the layout can be confusing at first.
Picture perfect site and campground. Site had a dock and a tiki hut with fans, a wet bar, a gas grill, table and chairs and storage. Everything was top shelf. People were friendly without being intrusive. The only negative was that we were not allowed to fish off the dock. Not sure if this a campground perogative or the owners. For those that raise an eyebrow over the price ($150/night), I say that it's not often that you get what you pay for, but you do here. We will stay here when back in the Keys.
Nice park, with an attitude problem. While on our way to the keys, we made a reservation for 1 night from the road. We arrived after the office closed, and found only one site assignment on the door with a name similar to ours. We assumed they got the name wrong and proceeded to set up. The next morning, as I'm getting ready to leave, a very perturbed woman (office worker) tells me I'm on the wrong spot and I have to leave right now. Seems the office screwed up and never processed our reservation and I stayed in another family's site for the night. Oddly enough, their last name was very similar to mine. Mistakes happen, but I don't feel I did anything wrong and it took them over an hour and a half to get this resolved. Time we lost as we had planned on being on the road. The fellow who had the site was fine with it, he liked the site he pulled into that night better than the one I had. Just a big old mess that they handled poorly. The park was tough to navigate with my 40' coach, roads are plenty wide but shrubs and cars make it hard to maneuver. It's well kept but very hard to find. They gave us some poor directions to get there.
Great potential, but poorly run. I've stayed there 3 times prior and this was their last shot. They blew it. The workers just aren't nice, and the campground needs work. Even worse, the long term residents seemed to have the same attitude as the management. I can't name one specific thing that they did, but you just kind of get the feeling that you are not wanted. No problem at all, you don't want me, so long. It's too bad because with a little imagination and hard work, this could be a really nice camping facility.
This is part of the Nemacolin Resort. The rate was actually $150.00 per night, I kid you not! Beautiful grounds and sites abound. World class golf, spas, restaurants, concierge service, free transports within the resort. They even hook you up to the utilities. No bathrooms are available however. A special place for a special weekend. It was our anniversary and we'll go back next year. Not the kind of cost we'd do every weekend but it's perfect for a special occasion. Miniature golf, a zoo, paint ball, horse riding, off road driving, paddle boats and more are offered. The place is huge.
This one didn't tickle my fancy. We were in a river site that, due to a couple of strategically placed telephone poles, was very difficult to back into and was so pitched that there was no chance of getting level without lifting my rear axle 10 inches off the ground. A poorly stocked store and indifferent office people who just shrugged their shoulders when I asked if I could be moved sealed the deal. I will say that being backed up to the river was really nice. The kids and the dog had a ball. Was able to sit outside and listen (couldn't see) Clint Black perform on Saturday night. Being a holiday, it was really busy, but there were 3 suitable sites that stayed open even though I had asked to move. Additionally, due to heavy traffic on the main roads, allot of people cut thorough the campground to save time. It's a wonder some of the little kids didn't get hurt.
Wonderful family park. Had wanted a waterfront site but wasn't able to get one. Site size was good, almost level. WiFi, cable TV and additional gravel or road paving would make this a destination park. The river sites are huge and back up to the Ohio River. Great place for kids and the young at heart.
Very nice park. Has all the bells and whistles you would expect and then some. Pools are great. The sites are a little cramped, but doable. With evening temps in the high 90's, not too many people are outside anyway. Shuttles were too long in coming for my taste so we drove to the strip both days we were there. Not a big deal but we only had 2 days there. One of the RV cleaning companies cleaned the rig across from me and did a nice job. If I wasn't travelling 500 miles the next day, I would have had them do mine as well.
The prior review was spot on. It is a very pretty piece of property that, with some improvement, would be very nice. Unfortunately, it's out in the middle of nowhere and there isn't much to pull people in.
OK park that is way too expensive. Paid $42 for one night with my KOA card. Ouch! Cable didn't work well. Some of the channels could not be watched. Wi-Fi only worked if we were outside the coach at the picnic table, as did our neighbors. Dirt and grass area to park on. OK for a stopover, but not at the price I paid.
We were in the "D" ring and it was really nice. Wide pads and plenty of room with great views. The pool is at the hotel which is not within walking distance for small children and there is no playground that I saw. Keep that in mind if you have kids. With cable and wi fi, this is definitely a "10". Found out, on our last day there, that you can dry camp right on the beach about 4 miles to the west. It's an easy drive to get down there and the ground is very firm until you are right at the beach. You could literally, walk out of the coach and be 4 steps from the water. That's the ticket for me the next time I'm out there.
Beautiful park with nice people. The only thing lacking was much of a pet walk area which is why I gave a 9 instead of a 10. Clean and neat. Once the landscaping grows up a little, it will be beautiful. The train was a wonderful way to travel to the canyon, but there isn't much in the way of scenery on the way. We had a lot of fun interacting with the "train robbers" on the way back.
OK park. Kind of typical for a KOA. Has all the right stuff but needs to be "prettified" somewhat. Dusty entry road made a mess of the coach and the toad. Workers there, while not rude, could be friendlier.
We liked this campground but we lucked out and had the nicest site in the place. The people were very nice and the facilities are first rate. There looked to be some tighter sites in a different area but we certainly had no issues. It is rather difficult to get to however, make sure to have a good map or GPS system.
Very nice park. Facilities are first rate but would be rated better if they had sewers and wi-fi. My only complaint is that there are very few sites that are level enough so that you don't have tires off the ground after you are leveled up. For the beautiful terrain they have there, they could have leveled their pads better. If that is important to you, get there early
We didn't have a problem with the park or the facilities, however, the office people were just plain rude and unresponsive. We arrived for a long weekend on a Thursday evening. Assigned a sight that was very wet and unlevel. They claimed to be full but had a number of sites that went unused all weekend and refused to let us move. Additionally, closed the store 30-40 minutes early each night. Even locked the door on me as I was walking up to buy ice one night 30 minutes before they were supposed to close. A letter and an additional e-mail to KOA went without a response from corporate or the park. The only KOA I'll stay at in the future is in Nashville where the people are great. Other than that, I'll dry camp.
Very nice park. Immaculate. Obviously, the owners take great pride in the facility. Had zero issues with the management, unlike some of the people who gave this park a bad review. They were very friendly and went out of their way to help. Not much in the way of a camp store, but there are two RV stores and a Wal-Mart within a mile. Smallish sites which is why I gave it a nine. Will stay there again when in the area.
Everything is very good except for he site widths. Barely, and I mean barely, were able to put out all the slides. No way to put out the awning, the next rig was way too close. Bathrooms and store/office were immaculate and the people were just fine. OK for an overnight or a base to see Brown County, but don't plan on enjoying the great outdoors at this campground.
Very nice park with wonderful service. Had one of the new sites with furniture and fire pit. A little too much highway noise where we were, but we were at the extreme end of the park. Other sites won't be as loud. Has a spot to wash the RV which is great. First rate campground that I will visit again.
Wonderful piece of property. A small river runs alongiside one side of the campground and a lot of people were tubing. The quarry was a great way to spend the afternoon. All manner of floating items to play and rest on. Employees were OK. A little attitude, but nothing that a smile and a little firmness couldn't fix. We camped in the middle of a large field with hookups. Campsites were not marked. It was kind of a crapshoot as to which way to put the rig. The only major complaint I have was the constant parade of golf carts, mopeds, and scooters all driven by 12-15 year olds. The dust was awful although I must say that they sprayed water to keep the dust down, but it only worked until the water evaporated. Not really large rig friendly either. They commented a couple of times about how "huge" the MH was and I still had my 36" Bounder at the time. They might have passed out on seeing the new one pull in. Probably will not go back.
Very scenic park with wonderful sites along the lake. Our site was kind of shoe horned in between a couple of cabins but the view was terrific. WIFI did not work at the site, I had to go to the office or restaurant to use it and at $5.00 a day, thats not right. They claimed the system was damaged by lightning, but some seasonal people told me that thats what they tell everyone. Restaurant hours are kind of short but the food's not bad. Employees were all very nice to everyone. Had a great day when rented a pontoon boat and found a nice sandy beach and swam all day. Very nice place to get away from it all, just make sure you bring what you need. The closest grocery store is 40 miles away. Will definitely go back
Nice clean park. A little tight but in a nice setting. Owners are not the most pleasant people to deal with. They are very rigid and don't seem to care if you are satisfied or not. What really ticked me off was when I tried to make a reservation for our anniversary weekend and was told they had a 7 DAY MINIMUM for early through mid October. Would come back without the kids. With the kids, will stay at another park (which I think would make them happy)!
