I chose this park because it was closer to town and had cable tv per the reviews I read. It is closer to town, but no cable. Our antenna would not pick up anything. The owner who is very nice said she knew nothing about TV (the channels are listed in her brochure). OK, TV is important to me. We asked for a 50amp pull thru. We got one, but the 50amp plug is in the center of the site , while the water is in the back. We needed a longer water hose. The biggest problem about this park is that no one seems to know anything when you ask a question. We needed propane, but the person that handles that was on vacation and the fill in guy wasn't qualified to fill it and didn't know how much they charged. This place has a lot of potential and I understand the owner has only had it a year. She is very nice and I am sure will get it running smoothly.
We were here on a quick stop over, the campground was fine, site was level, very sandy. Seems typical for the western states. There is apparently nothing to do in Santa Rosa, because when my husband asked the girl in the office, she gave him a blank stare. There is a restaurant, but we did not eat there. We would stay here again if in the area.
This was a quick overnight for us and with a storm coming in. We left early in the day. The owners were very nice, the laundry was convenient and well priced. There is nothing in the area except this campground. The site was level, everything worked well. We would surely stay here again if in the area.
The lake is beautiful, we should have splurged for a site on the water. The information center is great, the people working there were very friendly and informative. The restrooms were under construction and as we did not have sewer, that was a bit of a problem. There was a lot of traffic in and out on a busy weekend, but we biked and hiked. Traffic noise was a bit of a distraction, but it was great to be in a park where we could have a fire. Our grandchildren had a great time.
The best thing I can say about this campground is that it is convenient. It is close to everything I needed and is a safe location. There are many stores, restaurants close by. Otherwise, it is a big empty field, site are extremely close, there had been a lot of rain and it was a mud hole. WiFi is available, but it costs extra. No cable, but you can pick up a couple of local stations. If you are looking for amenities, this is not your place, but if you just need a place to park, it is a good one.
