We were very disappointed with this park. We had a 30 amp pull through site and had to back up our motorhome to get out when we left as there were cars parked everywhere on the narrow roads making it impossible to pull ahead. Our fridge kept cutting in and out on gas as the 30 amp was not adequate and we weren't running AC. A great way to burn out the igniter. Campfires were going all night and we had to keep our windows shut as the smoke was terrible. Internet was only available at the office and we could not get on the several times we tried, too many people trying for the few ports they have. 11:30 at night there were screaming kids, bikes and people running through the sites. This is surely a party place lots of drinking and noise. It advertises satellite friendly but the wooded sites were not and we had no TV reception for any local channels. We will not return here!
We had camped here before but this is the last time. We checked and there are better places close by. These sites are just to close together. I measured the space between my spot and the site next to mine on both sides and it was 11 feet each way. That was from my driveway to the other driveway. Two units both with double slides and you can imagine how close it was. Campfires burning at night and you are filling up with smoke inside your rig, unless you want to close the windows and run air. The staff (kids) believe the best way to arrange a campground is to register everyone and assign them sites in order by number, when a place is not busy the least they could do is to assign every second site whenever possible.
We spent 4 peaceful days here and really enjoyed it. Free Wi-Fi is now available and we had a strong signal at our site so that is a real plus. Owners were very friendly and accommodating. Golf course and driving range is right next door and it was the closest campground to the Seneca casino which was only 4 miles away. Great biking/hiking trail just across the road. Would certainly return here again.
A nice campground but they have absurd dog rules. NO dog walking. That's right, you have to confine your dog to your site or drive your dog 1/2 mile down the road by the ball field to exercise and let your dog do his business. Cannot walk your dog there. We weren't told of these rules, nor are they posted in any campground books or the Ohio travel guide so we didn't know about it until we paid $39.00 a night and later read the print on the brochure. We thought it was a joke, and asked a worker: were told that it might be ok to walk the dog since the kids weren't here yet for the season. However we were reported for walking our dog by another worker, and told this was not allowed. Told the reason for this rule was that most people don't pick up after their dog. I would avoid this park if you have a dog and enjoy walking it. Some people have their dogs in pens, but that's not for us! We will never endorse this place again! Also the Wi-Fi connection was very poor. We were right behind the bathhouse where the antenna was located, and couldn't get on the internet all evening. Maybe they only have a few ports for the many permanents in this park.
Park is nice but the free internet is only for 2 hours and a one time log in that they don't tell you about during check in.If you log off the 2 hours are gone. They charge 7.95 for 24 hour internet which is very expensive compared to other parks. No cable at this park so unless you have a dish,no TV or bad reception. We paid passport rates but the regular rate of 40.00 is not worth it.Next time we will check out other parks before returning here.
We camped here off season, and it was absolutely beautiful with the fall foliage. The whole campground was meticulous: very, very, clean. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. It had everything we needed and the sites are so spacious with lots of privacy. You can certainly see the dedication of the owners to provide such a wonderful campground, with very modern washrooms, laundry, pool and lodge which is great for rainy days, where you can prepare meals. Everything is provided, stove, fridge, microwave, dishes, couches, tv etc. We will certainly return !!!
Quiet campground overlooking the ocean. A few grassy areas for a tent but mostly gravel and more suitable for self contained units.Within the town limits and nearby a nice hiking trail. Canso is the most Easterly Mainland Point in North America. There are 2 museums within walking distance. Great place for beachcombing.
I agree with these other posts, this is a very nice and well maintained park. I would like to see sewer hookups, but for a few days we can manage and longer stays there is a truck that goes around that will dump your tanks. They now have WI-Fi available. The cost makes it unrealistic, $14.95 per day or $50.00 a month and the signal is very poor. The site we had we couldn't even get their 15 minutes free, unless we drove to the office parking lot. But at that price I wouldn't use the service.
I like this park,it is very close to everything, stayed here a week and would return. One comment that we have is the fact that if you want to use the hot tub, you better be prepared to share it with a bunch of kids. Even though the signs clearly state that no kids in the hot tub, they are jumping in and out. Parents and staff seem to let them. I guess that is what happens when there are so many seasonal campers here.
This park is trashy, dirty and has not done many improvements over the past couple of years. Has some old permanent Rv's that need repair. It is conveniently located off the interstate for people travelling to Florida and since there is not many other campgrounds around, the owner figures people will stop here anyway and he doesn't have to do any improvements. We will be looking elsewhere next year !!
Clean well mowed park. Lots of permanents. Close and convenient to the interstate for an overnight stop. The sites were large and gravel with nice grassy patios and some trees. We would stay here again if in this area.
Nice clean park but had a lot of permanents.Staff were friendly and fully bilingual. Was only 18 miles from Montreal, and convenient to the Metro (subway) so that you could park your car for free in Longueill and travel all over the city for a reasonable fee by subway avoiding parking and traffic congestion in the downtown area. Only downfall of this park was the Wi-Fi which was 7 dollars a day or $22 a week and they had pay showers. At the price we paid 35 dollars a night these 2 items should be free.
This new park was very clean and quiet and had large grassy sites on a huge open field that was nestled in a peaceful valley and great for getting satellite reception. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. There were camping cabins and a guest house for rent and tents and pets were welcome. It was next door to an 18 hole golf course and driving range that were open to the public and only 5 miles from the Seneca Casino. It also had a fishing pond for those who like to fish. The washrooms and laundry were immaculate. We stayed here 5 nights and really enjoyed it. The only reason we didn't give it a 10 was because they are still expanding and future plans include a pool, hot tub and WiFi.we will return to this park !
This a nice park, easy off and on to the Interstate if you need a spot for a couple of days. However for the second year in a row we went there under the assumption that they would honor Passport America, and for the second year in a row, they have changed their restrictions with Passport America, only after the directory has been published. This time there was a twist, not only would they not honor Passport America , they will no longer honor Good Sam, and as a further twist, the week we chose to drop by has been changed from an off peak time to a peak period. I doubt the 3 other campers who came in that day would call it peak period. As a result of their changes our rate was an $11.00 increase over last year. If not for their changes we may have stayed longer. It is a nice campground, but it is not worth $38.00 a night.
I agree with the past comments, this place is going down hill fast. We came back here only because we were here many years ago and it seemed like a nice place then. At check-in they would only take cash or a personal cheque, if they take a cheque there will be a $4.00 additional charge, by the time my personal cheque clears my Canadian bank there will be many other additional charges. They will take no credit cards of any kind. They informed me that they are going to drop Good Sam so that discount will soon be gone. They send us to the top of the hill with was supposed to have , quote "Great view and great signal for Wi-Fi.". He was half right, we had to carry our laptop to the store in order to get signal. The sites were so close together, that if someone else came along side me their sewer hose would be run under my table in order to make a connection. Woodalls have written it up as average site width 40 feet. Not in the case of the overnight spots. Rated as 30 Amp service, not even close, we had to shut off the air conditioner in order to run the convection oven to make supper. We will not be returning to this place again .
This is a very nice and well maintained park. The only flaw we had with it is the WiFi leaves a lot to be desired. If you are very far from the tower you cannot get service. The staff tries their best to let you know which sites are in range of the tower, but their best solution is for you to bring your laptop up to the office and use it. For the amount they charge for the sites and their advertisement of free WiFi, I think it should be available through the park. This is the second year we have encountered this problem in this park, at this point I am not sure if there will be a third time.
This is a very nice park. We camped here for 4 days and enjoyed every bit of it. Easy access to the beach. There is a lot of sand at the sites, and some of then take a little bit extra to get level. This was a return visit for us and we would come pack again. The campground hosts are friendly and helpful if you need help.
We enjoy this park, every time we are near the area we go back here. I have noticed they are starting to clean out some of the older permanent rigs out of the park, making it look a lot better. Just wish they had a swimming pool.
Very nice park, and reasonable rate with discount. However the WiFi was just awful. We camped here for 2 days and seldom were we able to get any Internet service. We were informed by the staff that they have been having problems with it for a long time, it is a hit or miss service, be aware if you get a connection it can drop you at anytime.
