We stayed at Normandy Farms based mainly on reviews on this site. We were not disappointed. The campground is lovely and very family friendly. Every single person on the staff that we spoke to was extremely nice and working very hard to make your stay pleasant. There were also many activities for our kids (ages 7 and 10). My only complaint, and the reason that I didn't give them a 10: is that some of the sites were very crowded over the weekend. We stayed the first few days during the week and it was lovely. When we left on Saturday, the park had filled up with many groups of tent campers who parked in the road making exit in our big rig difficult. Once the staff noticed the difficulty we were having they spoke to the campers and asked them to move their cars. Overall, this is a fabulous campground: clean, neat, and well maintained. At the same time, it is full of trees and shade. This is just what a family campground should be. We will be staying here again when we return. Oh, and the Wi-Fi worked well the entire time we were here. And, it was free. That's unusual.
This is a family style park on Cape Cod. We camped in a motorhome and were disappointed to be camping right across from many groups of tent campers with towels and clothes hanging from clothes lines as well as tarps and kids toys scattered here and there. There were also four or five tents on some sites filled with young kids. The price to stay here is quite high for what you get. I also found that when I arrived I had been overcharged and the management was hesitant to give me a refund because I'd already pre-paid. Eventually, after much debating, they did give me the difference in cash. I was told when I made the reservations that there was a five night minimum only to find when I arrived that that only applied over the holiday weekend and not the weekend I stayed. There is also a mysterious $50 "other fees" entry on my bill I am going to ask about when we check out. The sites are quite narrow and it was difficult for us to get our big rig into our site, and our neighbor's awning was almost touching our slide out. On the positive side, the management was very responsive to any complaints we had. There were a group of drunk, disorderly campers next to us and the management spoke to them and continued to check in through the night to make sure everything was okay. I felt as if they were concerned that we were satisfied with their service. There are also a few nice folks working in the office who really want to make sure your stay is a pleasant one (and some who could care less). To sum up - if you are a big rig camper used to clean, orderly campgrounds, you may want to look elsewhere. If you are a tent or pop up camper, this is a great place if you don't mind the high prices and somewhat crowded conditions in the summer. I'm not sure we'll be staying here again on our next visit.
This is my family's favorite campground. It's clean, kid friendly, and very convenient to many San Antonio theme parks. We try to go here at least a few times a year since it's only about four hours from our home. I recommend this park to anyone - you will enjoy the friendly service, beautiful oak trees, clean facilities, and level, paved sites.
At first sight, this park might not look like much, but my family has really enjoyed staying here. The views around the park are really nice - mountains in the distance in most directions and the sunset and sunrise here is beautiful. Of course every site may not have the best views, but you can walk around the park on a trail and enjoy the scenery. We stayed here two years ago and things have changed - they are building small homes/apartments around it, but they are tastefully done and look nice. The best thing to me - especially after staying at another park off the interstate - is the silence. You do not hear any traffic noise and the views at night are also gorgeous. The sites can be unlevel and there is no pavement, but it's a nice park overall. Plus, the location is good. My family has added this to our "to do again" list and we hope to continue to visit in future years as our boys grow up.
This is by far our favorite park we've ever stayed at. We have visited many times each year and have enjoyed every single time we come. In fact, we compare all others to this one. It's very convenient to Seaworld - buy a season pass and enjoy the water park and amusement park for a few days. I'm sure the park is not perfect for everyone, but we think it's pretty darn close for us. The facilities are very clean and the park is well-maintained. The staff is nice and the trees throughout the park make it lovely - especially the far side of the park. There is plenty of breathing space on the premium sites as well. The only problem that we've had in the past is with the wi-fi service - last time we went it was spotty at best. Hopefully they've fixed that in the last few months. This is a nice, new paved park with nice, new facilities. Who could ask for more?
