Beautifully maintained park. Great for a stop over in the Phoenix area, and maybe longer in the winter months when the miserable heat subsides. Very pet oriented with nice dog runs and a doggie bath area. Lots of restaurants and stores just a couple miles down the road. This is our second stop at this park and we will definitely stop there again. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
We have been to this campsite about 3 times over the last five years or so. I am sorry to say that it appears the campsite is not being kept up very well. The biggest complaint is they do not trim the trees. We had to trim a tree to get our motorhome in and then found the river view obstructed with overgrown and dead trees. Park staff rides around on golf carts all day, but are not doing any work! It's a shame since this park has the potential to be much nicer. For $70 a night, we expect basic park maintenance at the very least. Two or three washing machines had towels on the ground for leaky washers and one dryer was out of order. The location is not ideal if you plan to spend much time in town, as it's about 15 miles out of town. I doubt we will return again on our next trip to Durango.
We stopped in this park for one night while traveling from Durango to Phoenix. The park is very clean and you can tell the owners really take pride in the park. Park staff is very friendly as well. I would recommend this park as a nice stop over and would definitely stay here again. As for the complaints about the planes and trains - didn't bother us a bit. In fact, the train horns sounded nice in the distance.
This park is a huge disappointment in its price range of $60/night. As a previous reviewer stated, we were packed in like sardines without any "yard" area at all, and the picnic tables were literally sitting next to the sewer hookups. What is unfortunate is this park has potential. If the spaces were larger, this could be a nice park; however, at a reduced price of about $49 per night. We would never stay here again and would not recommend this park for the price. Good Sam let us down with their rating on this one!
Very nice campground, especially for a one-night pass through. Nicely landscaped in desert plants; very clean and convenient - right off the I-17. Only criticism would be lack of trees; however, this is not unlike other desert community RV parks. Mostly older adults - did not see any children, but that could be time of year. Pets are welcome.
Very nice campground: especially the river front sites. Not sure why some reviewers were so critical, unless they haven't been to many RV parks. We have been to many and this one rates among the better ones. The facilities were neat and clean and staff was friendly. As for the cost: yes, a bit pricey, but we don't mind paying for a nice campground. We have friends (who also have a lot of RV camping experience) who recommended the park, and they too thought this was a really nice park!
I agree with the previous post stating this park is weird. Yes, it is well maintained and nice, but it is like you are being watched every second to make sure you do not break "A Rule!" My husband and I are in our 50s and very respectful of rules; however, when my husband is out cleaning the RV windshield (with Windex - no hose in sight) and the park manager comes by twice to make sure he "doesn't plan to hook up a hose and wash the RV" then you know something is terribly wrong. The park was so quiet you could hear a pin drop and it felt like you were under surveillance the whole time. Seemed like most RVers were over 70 and didn't have a problem with the control-freak park managers, but we won't be staying here again!!
