This is a nice park by the river, open April through October. All RV sites have water and electricity (dump station) and are grass covered with a gravel access road. Internet worked well but there’s no over-the-air or cable TV. Manager/owners are friendly and take good care of the place.

Park was CLOSED when we arrived January 26th, 2012. Google said there is a sale pending from a recent auction. We overnighted on the side street bordering the park. Next morning I talked with the caretaker who was very evasive about what was going on so I'd call first before staying here.

We really like this park about 2 hours from home. This was our third visit. It costs more than some other parks but that was probably the reason we were able to reserve 4th of July weekend with only a couple weeks notice. Our spacious and quiet site (#55) was in the "E" row redwoods section. At first they offered us a noisy site next to the water pump and activites tent. $10 extra to reserve a specific site. "Free" Wi-Fi worked well. The weather was perfect! The fog burned off by 9am with afternoon temperature right around 80. Inland just a bit more and you're getting into the 90s. About 30 minutes away is Pt. Reyes National Seashore. A nice hike there is the Bear Valley Trail (easy 4 miles each way to the coast through the trees), starting at the visitor center. You might also want to visit "Snoopy's Home Ice" arena in nearby Santa Rosa with its Charles Schultz cartoon museum.

This is one of the nicest RV resorts in the entire greater Palm Springs area. Located between Palm Springs and Palm Desert, it’s close to everything. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with thousands (really!) of mature palm trees. The only dirt we’ve found is in the flower beds. We’ve rented here at Outdoor Resort at least 10 times during the past 15 years and have found most people to be friendly and cordial. While it’s not inconceivable that some owners (or even renters) might prefer to keep to themselves, we’ve always felt welcome with others at the pool, spa and organized activities (we especially like the hiking group). Even though there are some “owners only” facilities (billiards, owners’ lounge, exercise room and 18 holes of golf), all the pools, spas, tennis courts and “back 9” golf course are available to renters. Downside is that it’s very popular during the winter season, and with the imminent closing of nearby Emerald Desert RV Resort in Palm Desert (for a condo development), increasing rates will be the filter for a shortage of rental spaces. Too bad we didn’t buy a lot here years ago!

Sign of the times. Emerald Desert is an excellent park but I hear it is CLOSING in Spring, 2007 to become a condo development! The land is way too valuable to have it heavily used only a few months of the year and nearly empty the remainder. Their website was down when I tried it. Best nearby alternative we've tried is Outdoor Resort, Cathedral City.
