I should have known from the other reviews, but I was hoping since the last was posted in 2009, things had changed. I was wrong. The only reason I stayed was lack of other cg's in the area. There are so many things I would list as bad, I'll just say what was good. The pool. It was nice and clean, but was certainly the exception to the overall quality and cleanliness of cg. It should be called Paradise Pond as the "lake" is really no more than a farm pond with stale green water and an awful bug (mosquitos, gnats, etc.) problem.
Convenient to most of the Pigeon Forge area. Can be very dusty, even though it rained every day we camped. Would stay here again, but not my first choice. Park was very busy with traffic, hard for the kids to ride bikes, walk, etc., with all the traffic. Also I understand the need for campground rules and security, but I felt like I was constantly being watched by security. They reminded me of Roscoe and Enos hiding behind a bush waiting to catch someone going 8 mph so they could then yell at them to slow down. Facilities are nice and the pool area was adequate.
Everything was very nice. The grounds are very well kept, the office is neat, and the indoor pool and arcade are first rate. I'm being picky but the only thing keeping them from a 10 is the space between sites, not a lot of space in the "yard". Would certainly return here again.
Certainly not a destination campground. No real problems with campground. It is older, sites are grass (mud if raining) pull thrus. Our reservations were supposed to be side by side but when we arrived we were on different rows. I didn't experience any electrical problems as some other reviews stated. Bring some leveling boards, sites are not graded very well. Due to the limited number of cg's in the Spartanburg area, this cg suffices as an overnight for those passing through.
Longest & Widest Pull thru sites East of the Mississippi--this is their claim to fame. We didn't measure the sites but they sure were long and wide. We love the campground. Easy access from I95 and nice shaded sites. Not a whole lot to do around the area, but a nice relaxing stop for an overnight or two. Nice and friendly staff.
Nice park with level concrete pull thru sites. As mentioned is located under the approach zone for the airport but we didn't hear any flights past 10:30 pm. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We sent our children to the office for ice and they returned riding on a golf cart with the campground staff. I know our two boys were appreciative. Easy access from I-95. I would highly recommend.
