Basic gravel park, did not see, nor need, a bath house. Good utilities and well-placed. Called ahead for a space and owner gave specific directions for entry as I-40 has heavy construction in the area with a 15 mph off exit. Park was full of construction workers (no problem), pull-through site was available for us. Distant I-40 traffic noise was no problem. Owner stopped by for a visit later and gave alternate directions to get back on I-40 avoiding construction and traffic. Convenient cafe in walking distance, good food. No amenities but we just wanted an overnight stop and it worked well for a quiet evening. Would stop here again.
Nice quiet park, level sites, paved roads, clearance for big rigs. Caution if using Garmin, it may direct you past park entrance but turn-around is possible, even with 36' class A and toad. We were East-bound on 90/98 and Garmin said entrance further East and on left (is actually on South side). Pull-throughs are interior side, back-ins have better view of bay (and I-10). Distant road noise but was cool and windows closed so no problem sleeping. Good utilities but sewer connection higher than desired. Ranger advised us upon entry that if we had ant spray we might want to use it. Had no problems. We were passing through so just an over-nighter, believe would be convenient base location for local site-seeing. We would stay here again when in area.
Rate was Passport America. Convenient access off Hwy 49, asphalt road to entrance then dirt/gravel road to park. It was dry so no problem. This is one of those parks you wonder about as you are driving to it, seemed a bit out of the way going in but worthwhile. Host led us on tour of park while showing to site. Site was sand/dirt with grass. Good pull-through site and utilities. Easy-out next morning. Sewer connection a tad higher than desired. Cable connection was on post, could not remember if they advertised cable, did not work. Several channels via coach antenna. Friendly park manager came by later in evening to chat. Seems he is in process of cabling sites for satellite, won't have to use your dish, just the receiver. Interesting. This park has something you don't often see, a lighted pet walk. Fenced area was grass and clean. Pull-thru sites are convenient to pet walk, nice touch. If traveling through area, this is a good overnight stop, maybe even for several days. We would stay here again.
Rate was senior discount. Called campground while enroute to verify address, was given an address the Garmin accepted and directed to front gate. Asphalt drives and sites. Discussed open sites with host and provided with several possibilities for big rig. Host was very helpful and accommodating. No problem negotiating park roads to site. Accepted a 50A/Water site with rear view to Mississippi River. Host OK'ed reversing a back-in to drive-in for windshield view of river and barge traffic. Had to extend electrical and water to reach, use couple of boards for front wheels to level. We were here in off-season so lots of open sites, very quiet other than nearby power generating plant. No cable but several local channels via coach antenna. AT&T cell and Verizon broadband had good signals. Dump station was convenient as we left park. Our stay was just overnight but will definitely stay here again, hopefully for several days next time.
Called park prior to arrival, host friendly and provided alternate directions from Garmin, easy access off I-540 in arriving and onto I-40 on departure. Host met us as we arrived and assisted in parking. Gravel drive and site, was a bit rough but level enough. Neighbors would be too close for comfort if park were crowded. Electrical and plumbing connections were good. Park is good enough for an overnighter. Crackerbarrel next door so did not unhook toad, very convenient. Did not check out bathrooms but host did advise they were nice and clean, and laundry was available. Crabtree has an RV service center next door, along with parts department adjacent. Could hear I-40 traffic if outside but noise did not bother us as was cool weather and windows were closed. Good signals for AT&T and Verizon. If just passing through, would probably stay here again.
We selected this campground from RV Parks Review as it was in area we wanted to overnight. We called ahead a couple of hours before arrival, received directions, and were told to pull in, park in a preferred site, and host would come around later. She did soon after arrival and was very friendly and helpful. We had a long pull-thru so did not need to disconnect. Convenient in/out from US 54. Excellent Wi-Fi. Four TV broadcast channels were supposed to be available, but we had problem with our antenna so we received only one local station. The 5-acre park is all large gravel but is level. Hook-ups are in excellent condition. Each site has a small light on post, no obtrusive park lighting. Some road noise from semis and nearby railroad crossing.
Needed an overnight in this area so we selected this park from RV Park Reviews. Was not disappointed. It is very convenient as it is on US 54. Hosts were friendly. We were escorted to our site, which is all gravel. Utilities are well-placed and in good condition. Wi-Fi was excellent. No next-door neighbors so we did not get a feel for closeness of sites. Some road noise from the highway, but it did not disturb sleeping. Would give a higher review if they had cable TV as we missed not having access to ESPN that evening. We would stay here again.
