A clean, mellow park with some highway noise. The showers were cleanish, not sparkling. We stayed one night. Was a perfect stop for the drive between coast and gulf. Only a few campers here, located out in the middle of nowhere, but near the highway. It is dog friendly. A typical KOA without any local amenities.
A very quiet park with no road or highway noise. Has lots of larger permanent style homes. Friendly helpful staff (finally). The residents were friendly. We arrived w/o making reservation (we're fly-by-the-seat-of-our-pants types) and got the very last site available: a tiny 20 foot site, in between a permanent home and a reserved, but empty lot. Luckily the employee who helped us park, said we would be okay parking our truck there. Lots of great lots, but they were all reserved. The desk lady said they have dozens of reserved guests checking in over the New Year's weekend, and they're backed up down the highway because it takes a while to check in each one. Apparently we got very lucky just showing up like we did. I would recommend making a reservation if you'd like to visit in the winter!
Rate reflects AAA discount. Pulled in just after 5 on a Friday. Lady at the desk made sure to let us know she was supposed to be closed. Set us up in a very narrow site next to a neighbor who blasted their outdoor TV until 11. Generator started up within earshot at dawn. 4 hours of free internet. Quite a walk to the dumpsters. Paved roads, dog friendly. Very close to Homosassa Springs State Park, which made it worth the stay. The State Park was great. I highly recommend it, but the RV park was a bit tight and full and made us feel claustrophobic.
Staff was very helpful and informative and directed us to the best RV sites and an amazing burger joint nearby. Dog friendly, except on boardwalks (wasn't a problem for us). Great back in sites, large and wooded, easy hookups. Nice showers, lots of paths and trails, great things to see, lots of animals (saw my first live armadillo, lots of deer, raccoons investigated our trailer, no manatees). Great boardwalks around park, but still wild and quiet, just our cup of tea. Would highly recommend to anyone who likes rustic and off the beaten path - great place to see nature, and great camping!
