We just returned from a really great stay at this park. We stayed in one of the Red Carpet sites (203) overlooking the playground and the field. It was a very, very quiet week as VA was on vacation the week before, so we literally had the campground to ourselves (along with another camper). Great view of the mountains, and great for stargazing. The staff was very helpful, offered us much assistance in seeing the area. Rest rooms were spotless, even after a busy weekend when we arrived. Great area to visit the Shenandoah National Park, Luray Caverns, etc. We'd like to go back when the pools/waterslide are open, to enjoy more of the campground. We'd definitely head back when in the area.

We had another great weekend here. It was as usual: the campground is immaculate and this time extremely quiet. We try to get a pond site because we like the concrete pad. Also, it's great to just walk out to fish, etc. No activities, but our son was occupied the entire day between fishing, biking, etc. The only downside that we had was that our site's graywater drain was clogged and because of where our trailer was, they couldn't snake it. No big deal. We will certainly return.

Nice place to stop for a weekend. We stayed in a basic site which was ample and large. Huge pine trees and shaded. The full hookup sites seemed much closer together and more crowded than ours in the basic area. The restroom was spotless. The camp store was small, but honestly had more of a selection of food than I've seen at most resort style campgrounds. It POURED while we were there. The sites by us definitely flooded (and badly), but the water appeared to quickly recede. At night it was dead calm quiet - never seen anything quite like it before, at least in our area. We ordered wood from the camp store for $7 which I thought was a bit pricey until I saw what we got. They delivered a huge bucket of wood - the equivalent to what I'd say would be at least three bundles at any other campground. You can rent kayaks and row boats for the lake for a nominal charge and if you prefer to go lake swimming, the public access is about two miles away. Be aware that the road heading out is a bit rough and narrow. However, it was relaxing and quiet. We had a great time and would definitely consider returning when we head up again next year.

This has become our favorite campground in CT. First, let me say that our rate reflects booking at 2008 prices. 2009 rates are substantially higher. We've usually only gone for a weekend, but this year decided to spend our week long vacation here. This year, they added the Odetah Tram: a great service in a very hilly campground. It runs from 9 am-9 pm and has stops throughout the campground. They also added the Iceberg: a rock climbing "iceberg" in the lake. My son had a BLAST jumping from the top, and so did other kids. We also checked out the new dog park that's opening in August. This will give the dogs a chance to run, and we may rethink taking our dog there now. The campground is immaculate, the staff is helpful and pleasant. Every year we go back we notice that they're upgrading something or adding something new. They definitely invest in the property and in their customers. We've decided on our son's insistence, that we'll come here on vacation again next year.

A great small state park to camp at. First time dry camping in our HTT and it was great. Our only problem was our original site - it was site #1 and it was very steep. Could only open one tent end because I couldn't get level. Had to prop the camper up against the car so that it wouldn't slide. However, talked to the ranger and the next morning we switched sites across the street. Mostly tent camping. Sites in the 60's appeared great. Walk to the lake is pretty long, but beautiful. Small beach, clear water. Park offered free movies for the kids both nights and an ice cream truck also came in. Quiet time is 10:00 p.m. and at 10, it got quiet. Bathrooms looked good for a state park. Had a great time - close to home, relaxing, fun. Would definitely return.

Once again, this campground did not disappoint. Level sites, the pull thrus are large and shaded. Easy campground to bike on for the kids. Added bonus this year is that they installed cable - which worked out well for us during a thunderstorm. Some of the sites got flooded from the intense rains, but the water appeared to recede quickly. Campground is extremely well kept, clean, people are friendly. I found management eager to answer our questions and helpful in the store. We had a blast and our son has the time of his life there each time we've gone. This has turned into our favorite campground - we look forward to going many more times here.

We really enjoyed our stay here. From the moment we checked in, we were greeted by some very friendly employees. The grounds are clean, the seasonal residents we met were extremely nice. The bathrooms, while a bit older, were very clean during our stay. Sites were large, especially in our area (B). I think these sites are larger than the sunny sites. Plenty of activities for the kids, though they were fine on their own. There were some rowdy people by us up well after quiet hours (after midnight) and someone drove by (I'm assuming management) and the carousing was squashed immediately. I was glad they handled that. The kids had a blast. Two suggestions I would make would be: more dumpster areas and expand the camp store a bit with more items. However, we did love the Keurig machine in the camp store. We would definitely return, especially when the pool's open!

Wow. That's all I can say. I made my reservations 6 mths. ago for this weekend, and was praying it would live up to the hype. That it did, and more. This campground is immaculate - the cleanest I've ever seen. The staff made us feel special - not often that you see that anymore. The landscaping is wonderful, the grounds are wonderful, the amenities are wonderful. We used the indoor pool/jacuzzi/sauna. 2 workers there at any given moment. It was never over crowded, always monitored and clean. Dog park is HUGE. More than I'd expected. We had a large pull through (site 511). Plenty of space, nice large site. Campground was very, very quiet at night (perhaps because it's Oct. and cold, but still we were surprised). Staff is very helpful. I truly can't say enough about this campground other than we will definitely be back. Price is a bit steep, but you get what you pay for, and I can think of no other campground that compares.

Like other posters, we agree that the sites are a bit on the snug side. We were on a pond site and it was a challenge to get our small hybrid trailer into the site. The campground is extremely well kept. The playground is very nice as is the tennis court. Our son and his friend enjoyed the pond and the fact that we had a pond site made that easy. They just walked right in from the site. Pond sites have concrete pads for the picnic tables: a nice addition. The rec room was adequate as was the store. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We know seasonal families at the campground: they are like a small community and about 1/2 the campground, but very nice. There is one issue that I have with this campground: lax quiet hours: The first night I commented on how surprised I was at the quietness of the campground. I ate my words. Our last night we had extremely drunk neighbors who were up talking very loudly until 3:30 am. We also had another neighbor who felt it necessary to idle his car for 1/2 hour, starting at 6:30 am. It was a very loud idling car, mind you. I was told by another family that he'd done that every morning for a week. Finally, a third was dumping wood into his truck at an obscene hour: well past 11:30 p.m. There is nothing printed that I could find in the rules about quiet hours. Perhaps they should start enforcing them because it's obvious some people lack common courtesy. Despite the neighbor issues, we will return because this campground is close to home, good for a weekend getaway, it's clean and our son had a great time.

There is potential for a very nice campground - it's in a beautiful area with lots to do. However we felt that the seasonal campers really run the show here and did not feel welcome during our stay. There were heavy rains before we arrived and they were pumping out the pool right by our site so it was very muddy. We noticed that the pool is, in our opinion, in some serious need of repair. There are lots of very large cracks in it. We also noticed a well that was left uncovered close to the playground which could be a disaster. The fishing pond was good and our son had a blast there. There was a bees nest in our campsites' gray water connection that clogged it up with lots of dead bees. The bathrooms on the last day were filthy and one of the toilets was overflowing. Overall, I'd choose somewhere else in the area to stay first. But again, it does have a lot of potential.

After reading the other reviews, I was really apprehensive about staying at this campground. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The water park is amazing - fun for both kids and adults and "non-swimmer" friendly. The pool at 3' 6" is deep enough, but not too deep. The volleyball basketball in the pool add a nice touch. The owner even surprised us one night by opening the pool/water park at 9:15-10:30 p.m. under the lights for some fun - that was a great surprise for the kids! Fun activities, too. The grounds were very well kept during our entire stay. We had 2 nights of very, very heavy rain and they were out first thing the next morning regrading the gravel that had washed away. All the staff I encountered and spoke with were very, very nice. Bathrooms were spotless - in fact, every time I was up front and needed to use the facility, it was being cleaned. Paintball was fun for the men - just be aware that it's only open on the weekends. The only reason I didn't give Yogi a 10 is because I'd like to see more than 2 washers/3 dryers for the whole facility and perhaps in the future they will put bathrooms closer to the pool area. And, our price reflects a family vacation package over 7 nights. With the improvements they're making, you can't go wrong here - you're whole family will have fun! We would definitely return.

We just came back from camping here for the first time. This park was a great surprise to us - never having camped Yogi before, we didn't know what to expect. We went Thurs-Sunday. We will def. be going back. It is on the expensive side, but if you get a Yogi card, you get 10% off the rate. When we got there on Thurs. afternoon, we and another site were the only two there (other than seasonals, but they weren't there yet). We literally had the run of the campground - peaceful and quiet. No cable - and the reception even just to find a news station for weather is non-existent. WiFi is available, bit slow, but available. The campground was only 25% full for the weekend, so there was a lot of room. And, the campground was immaculate. Very, very clean - well kept seasonals and well kept grounds. The staff was very accommodating, very nice. The owners are great - took pictures, checked to see how our stay was, etc. It was 96 degrees yesterday and today - kind of rare in upstate NY/CT area this time of year, so the only drawback was that the Tiki Bar/Snack Bar wasn't open (late june) and I suspect that because the river was low so the kayaks weren't available for rent. No big deal w/ us - less money to spend! I was a bit annoyed that the 2nd pool wasn't open because it was shocked yesterday morning. Oh, well. So, we only had one pool - better than none when it's hot! Enjoy watching parachuters jump right over the campground daily. Folks are really nice here - we will definitely go back - longer stay next time when all is open.
