HORRIBLE - DO NOY STAY HERE !! Although the camp owners have no control over it: there are 4 railroad lines that all come together about 1000 yards from the camp. The trains arrive ALL DAY and NIGHT and they blow their horns at least 4 times as they pass through the town. The noise literally makes your tent shake. It is ear-piercing. The entire back 1/3 of their camp is empty and I can see why. The trains pass as close as 100 feet from the rear of the camp. They charge on a pay as you go basis. I can see why. I'm sure plenty of people stay one night, pack up and go. That's what we did, but we lasted 2 nights. The camp itself is not very well maintained. The shower/bath area was only fair in cleanliness. They only had one place to take your garbage (no cans scattered throughout the campground). When going to Mount Shasta, find someplace else to stay. The entire town of Mount Shasta City (it's a small place), rocks from the train noise. Too bad as Shasta is such a great hiking destination.

This KOA is close to the redwood parks, but be sure you get a spot IN THE BACK in the woods. Other spots are out in the hot sun with no shade. Once you are back in the woods, there is good privacy and shade. Also, they have a "pet farm" up front with goats, roosters, etc. They SERIOUSLY need to make a meal out of that rooster. It crowed too lound, too long, too often and too much. It was horrible because it would crow ALL DAY. Their bath/showers were pretty clean and working. Hardly any hwy noise in back of camp.

We visited 3 KOA's on our trip (those reviews entered also) and we found this one to be the best of the 3. All the pull-thru's were in a wooded area. There were some trees/shrubs between each site so there was some privacy. Their bath/showers were the cleanest of the 3 KOA's we visited. There was alot of highway noise.
