This used to be Zooland RV Resort. We really enjoyed this campground. There is a lot to do, and there will be more once the renovations are complete. There is some washing out of the roads, but overall they are OK. Very family friendly, with lots for the kids to do. The store and all the buildings were equipped well and well kept.

We stayed at Deer Creek knowing that it lacked a playground, pool, and game area for the children. The owner was very friendly, the grounds were immaculate, and the price is reasonable. This campground hosts many rallys and is geared for those in motorhomes, and the retired crowd. Despite that, we felt welcomed here. (We have 2 small children.) It is a nice place to stay for a weekend getaway. There are a lot of historical areas and scenic areas close by also. We would stay again. They have added Wi-Fi recently.

We stayed on Oak Island in a rented house in May 2006, and the campground was closed.

This is a membership campground. We bought a membership, but my parents camped next to us as guests for $13/night. They have around 30 sites with sewer hookup, the rest are electric and water only. They are supposed to add more sewer sites as they grow. The campground is on an old tree farm, and has large long leaf pines for shade. Lots of golf carts, but as large as the campground is, it is almost necessary to have one to get from point A to point B. It has a quiet community like atmosphere. Bathhouses were immaculate.

We absolutely love staying here. This makes 3 times. The first two were weekend trips, but this time we stayed a week. The owner is very nice and is always busy and it shows. This place is immaculate. He has an Internet access in the laundry room now, but who needs it? Would recommend Holly Ridge to anyone who is coming into the foothills of NC. There is plenty to do within miles of the campground.
