Stayed here three nights, would not stay again because of possible damage to RV or vehicle. This will test your nerves for driving and trying to setup. The owner needs to cut about 25% of the trees and a lot of them could be identified by the rub marks, and chunks of missing bark. You will not be escorted to your site. I don't think they want employees to witness damage to vehicles or RVs. Office lady told us how to get to our site and knew we were pulling a 36' fifth wheel. We could have possible made the pull in as directed if we would have been pulling a 10' popup. We circled the park dragging trees down the side of our RV and came in from another direction. We had a man move his truck and he helped us into the site. We used all the plastic levelers we had from two containers and finally got level. I think the last owner money put into this camp was maybe 1956. A small amount of money leveling sites and removing trees would greatly improve this camp to a firm 10. The WiFi was great. The garbage cans and the showers are 100 yds away at the store.
We stayed here four days and would stay again. The sites were level 30-40 years ago but require some imagination now to get level. Only campground I've used where my converter kept kicking on and off, don't know what was going on with the electrical power. The laundry was one working washer and two dryers down the hill from the campground. Might be adequate for a hand full of items and a short hike. Nice friendly helpful camp hosts who made the stay nice.
I rated this campground a 6 only because of the price. It is in no way worth $48.75 a night. Don't even consider using one of your discounts, KOA only accepted. Other than price, the campground gets a 10 in all categories. The folks are nice and will deliver a home cooked meal to your site, for only $12 to $18 a plate. Great homemade pie $4.95 a piece. The prices may have been okay for Miami Beach, but Grant New Mexico??
Can't say enough good things about this campground. Location is best we saw while we spent five days traveling the area. We saw other camp grounds, but no other professionally run camping sites were in the area. Would definitely stay here again. Clean, quiet, grass, trees, management and workers very helpful, restaurant, store, and gas on property--don't miss the great breakfast at restaurant.
Don't count on getting a campground and site worth $43. We have stayed at many places much nicer and paid a lot less than $40. Forget your discount, the $43 includes your discount regardless of what you think you have. Turns are tight and sites are very unlevel. Nice picnic tables and concrete patio. Clean bathrooms a short hike away. Forget Wi-Fi; there is no such thing! No cable! Trash contained only a short hike away. Don't wait until the bag is full or drive to the trash. $35 would be a reasonable rate and they should not advertise Wi-Fi is available.
We stayed here three nights and would highly recommend this campground. The spacing between campers is good. The spaces are level with good hookup locations. Grass, some small trees, gravel roads in good condition, and a great picnic table on a slab with a cover (very nicely done). Good laundry and bathrooms. Owner and camp host friendly and helpful with things to see and do in the area. Easy walk to downtown Ft Davis (about a mile). Don't miss this one, we'll stay here again!
