The nightly rate is based on a monthly rate; we stayed for the whole month. The staff is always nice and ready to help. This is the neatest military RV park we have ever visited. Nice interior roads and all sites are pull-throughs, cement pads and patios.
The campground is easy to find and close to major highways for easy access. It is not fancy and it does have a lot of permanent campers who works the oil fields, but they are nice and quiet so no problem. It is a good place to get off the road. This was our first time here and will use it again as we travel through this area of Texas. The campground is not a member of any RV clubs, but they will give you a discount just for traveling in Texas.
We have used this RV park since we have been RVing and it seems like coming home. The managers and staff always work hard and the park is always neat and clean. We would recommend this park for any travelers because they also have cabins. We travel in a 45' motorhome and tow an SUV - we have plenty of room without feeling closed-in.
This park could be a super if they would try. We were quoted one price on the phone and charged another price upon arrival. At their price they really need to supply cable because it is located so far from the "World" no air signals will reach you. It is for sure an overnight spot only in an emergency. Sites were unlevel and not maintained. Dirty and muddy so bad we would leave our sewer hose out. No cable and no signals from local stations because there are none.
We have stayed here before and will always use this park when passing thru. Paved leveled sites ... everyone is very nice in the PV office, the staff at the casino and the security that drives you to the casino.
We was here visiting friends in the area and attending the Iowa State Fair, that is the only reasons we would come to this park. Sites was tight and they have lots of extended stay. Really over priced!
This park has the friendiest people working ... they are so friendly and very helpful.. We come back every year just to visit the colonies and enjoy their cheeses, wines, meat, etc. The score would be a 10 if they had paved roads and sites but they don't but they do have good water and power and will always use this park whenever we are in the area. We had plenty of room for our slideouts (4) and all our awnings.
We had called ahead to make reservations because when you are driving a 45' motorhouse with a SUV in tow you need to need you have a place to park. After telling the people we need 50 AMPS, etc., we get here and they say, "Pick you site." Well we pick one which had 50 AMPS and was a good size pull through. So we got set up and the airs was running and then: breaker popped in about 20 minutes. Reset the breaker: 5 minutes later it popped again, this time it would not reset. We went to office to see if someone could replace the bad breaker. They didn't have one on hand and was not authorized by the owner to call someone to replace the breaker and couldn't call the owner at work but we could use the pole next to us (30 amps). We decided to move on down the highway. They are not really big rig friendly and we will not ever stop here again.
The sites were not very level when you are traveling in a 45' motorhome. The water pressure was behaving like it had air in the pipes. We spoke with the owner, he said it was gas ??!?? Gas in the water??? We unhooked from his water supply and used from our fresh water holding tank. This park is like a pie shape with one side being a very active train track and the another side being I-74, so it was very noisy. The pool was ok but we will not stop here again due to the sites, the trains, the traffic and the water.
If they had a pool they would have gotten a 10. The owners are very nice and helpful and maintain a well manicured park. It is their home and it shows, very homey feeling. We travel in a 45' rig and the owners assigned us a great site - so easy in and out. The only thing that we thought he should remove is the piece of wood fencing at the entrance area - the mirrors came very close to the wood. We will for sure use this park every time we are in the area.
Sites was fairly level - the big problem is the hill with a speed bump going and coming out of the RV sites area. Also the pool was nice but the extended stay people (lots) can have their local friends over all the time - sometime not leaving room for the RVers who paid to stay there. We travel in a 45' motorhome and it was easy in and out except for the speed bump.
This park is great and would have gotten a 10 if they would accept reservations. We travel in a 45' motorhome and this park is easy in/easy out and the sites are long enough that we didn't have to unhook. The shuttle to and from the casino was very good. The price reflects a Good Sam discount along with a players card discount.
This is a service center so no pool, etc. But I will take great service, friendly and caring staff and a Tiffin product over a pool any day. Another review mentioned the reason people are here is to fix their motorhome that was manufactured poorly, of course we disagree. We love our Tiffin and bring it back every year for the people who knows them best, to do the annual servicing. So thankful for Bob Tiffin to give us a full hook up, level site to park our coach. Remember: it is a service area and full of Tiffin owners. GREAT!
Great sites, level, good electric, water pressure, etc. The owner is very nice and friendly. We travel in a 43' motorhome and had no problem getting in and out. Great location, away from the busy highway but close enough to everything, restaurants, shopping, WalMart and easy to get it from the highway. We always stay here whenever in the area.
Sites are fairly level, some needs work to make them work for a big rig. Staff is super! Good water pressure and wifi. We always use this park when in the area. We traveled in a 43' motorhome and have no problem getting in and out of the park.
Sites are fairly level and all paved. Clean park. We travel in a 45' motorhome and did not have any problem with the size of the sites, but of course we opted for a pull-through. The train does run very slow and we didn't hear any horns. Nice people in park office. And yes they do have access to a pool...at the hotel. We used the pool and the exercise room also every day we was parked there.
The rate cited is based on a monthly rate. We always stay at this park when in the area and this time we decided to stay for a month. Close to Dallas and other places of interest. A nice safe and well ran park. Other parks could learn a lot from this park. Long pull-throughs and basically level. Staff is friendly and always ready to help. Nice pool. Will always use this park. We travel in a 43' rig and have no problems in and out.
The nightly rate is Passport America rate. We always use this RV park when in the area. The people are always friendly, and sites are fairly level. Close to the interstate but not so close the noise will keep you awake.
Sites needs a little leveling out but overall this park is a great place for visiting the Austin area. The trees might be small but the long pull throughs all face towards the north having the patio area shade from the RV. Needs a pool and that would be super.
Great park! Friendly staff! Long level sites, great Wi-Fi and very well maintained grounds. The nightly rate is for military (active or retired) which we think is super for people to show appreciation for the people in uniform. The only reason this park did not get a 10 is the fact the patio area has sun all day, sites face the wrong way.
Nice, clean and fairly level sites. Can easily handle big rigs and very easy off and on IH 20. Stayed here before and will continue using this park. The park is an easy walk to the casino. Just wish the casino would turn their music down some. But as for the RV park, if it had a pool and WiFi they would get a 10.
This park is always a great place with friendly staff and grounds maintained, but they really need to replace or repair their picnic tables. Many of the parking pads are beginning to crack and become un-level, but they are aware of the problem and hopefully working on a solution.
The only reason this park did not get a 10 was due to their roads and tree branches that needs to be trimmed. They was in the process of trimming some branches where they put the big rigs so next time in I am sure the trees will be no problem. Now just get the pot holes filled and that will give them a 10. Staff was very nice and helpful, the first site they assigned would not work for us (45 footer) and they immediately changed us to the site that we knew would work: no trees and very level. Would stop by this park again!
Monthly daily rate: and that is when the problems started. Since we decided to stay for longer than a couple of weeks, they put us under the trees. That was bad! The cable TV is not good and being under the trees meant our satellite did not work. The trees also produced lots of pine needles and other stuff falling on the the motorhome: not good! The park has rules, rules, rules. Some are good, some stupid. They want to charge an early check-in fee (hello: we are RV'ers) and no where do they inform you until you arrive. The office is posted as opening at 9am and closing at 7pm, RIGHT! The office opens around 9 closes around 11am and if you are lucky, opens back up at 2pm. The workers treat this as a "job" and not as a lifestyle. Next time through, no more than a week so we are not stuck under "the trees." A good word: the Wi-Fi is super! People are nice but not they are not RV'ers. They might own one, but just not RV'ers.
Since this is a service center one should not expect pools, clubhouses, etc. This is probably the best service area parking in the industry. All I can say is: Tiffin truly takes super care of their owners.
The sites was fairly level but the trees stopped satellite service. When we arrived the electric breaker kept popping. They wanted to move us to another site. No way, why should we be inconvenience when all they needed to do was change the breaker. At first they wanted to blame it on our coach, but we had just left the service area of the motor coach and knew it was not us, so they did finally change the breaker and guess what? It worked great the rest of the three nights we were here. It was easy in/easy out and most of the workers were nice.
Sites are level and the people nice. The only reason I did not give them a 10 is the fact that we called weeks in advance because we like a pull through and a site facing north or northeast. We was assigned one but upon arrival they had changed our site and they did have the sites we wanted still available but we had to park with the sun beating down on our patio area all day. Lots of extended stay people who speeds through the park and their dogs may or may not be leashed. We travel in a 45' motorhome and had no problem in or out. Streets very wide but sites just face the wrong direction.
The owner is nice and the name fits, it is a campground not an RV park. Fine for small units but we was driving a big rig and the site we was assigned was very unlevel. They were on a slight hill and the sites have not been graded or terraced so they tilt to the side. No cable and too many trees to get the satellite signals and the local stations are so far away they didn't come in very good. If you must - then one night and move on. But on your one night do not plan on TV and being level.
We are traveling in a 45' motorhome and towing a SUV, and when we reserved several weeks ago, we were told they had 80' sites, and we would be in one of those. When we arrived we were put into a site that was made for nothing bigger than a 44' and told someone else called after us that was towing a trailer. I really thought they was not fair to us and would not go back there. And will really encourage anyone driving a big rig to keep going. The site we were put on was unlevel for our unit. Owners/managers/staff need to understand that big rigs have a different wheel base than travel trailers and 5th wheels, and also we need more room to navigate through their narrow, narrow streets. It is sad when you have to ask an RV to bring their awnings in so you can get out of your site. This campground is not an RV park for the big rigs even if they say they can handle you. Ask for their 80' site and hope they don't do you like they did us. This park has been crossed off our list.
This was a big disappointment. They actually have a check in time and if you check in early they will charge you a dollar an hour, that was a first for us. They advertise big rig friendly and that is not the case, sites unlevel, streets narrow, tree branches needs trimming badly and tight sites. We would not have been able to get out if the people beside us had not moved their vehicle. Would we stay here again, NO! We drive a 45' motorhome and this is not the place for it or any big rig. It is not big rig friendly. And they say no tents, not true, tents were there.
This is our second time in this park and we have always enjoyed the park, the staff and the colonies. We will always stay here when in the area. Sites are easy in/easy out with plenty of room. The rate reflects Passport averaging for three nights. We have no problems with this park.
The day of our arrival the owner was rude. This continued for the whole stay. We were told to move our car from the front of our coach. We were not in the street, but others could park anywhere they wanted. Rules was only for certain people. Dogs were loose, so the six foot leash rule was again, only for certain people. We were told no rugs on their (grass/weeds), but when other people did it, nothing was said to them. Sites run uphill with the land and has not been graded or terraced so the motorhome could sit straight. So would I use them again? No! The only reason we had to stay here was because Offutt's FamCamp was closed due to flooding.
We enjoyed this park. The owners are very nice and understand RV'ers. The sites are level and we will for sure stay here every time through this area. I do not rely upon Good Sam, Woodalls, etc., to let me know what park is good or bad. I rely upon this website because it is RV'ers who pay to stay. Our price is an Escapees price. We travel in a 45' motorhome towing a small SUV and we had no problem at all. Love this RV Park and the owners.
We have stayed here before and will continue to stay here as we come this way. The owners truly care about his campground and it shows. They have big rig sites that are long and level and you would not have to unhook unless you wanted. Nice and clean and well maintained.
We stayed here last year. The new owner had just taken over and we had to stop by this year to see what improvements he had accomplished. Well he still needs lots of help. The site for big rigs still has no cable TV (but of course we still pay the full price) and they are not very level and the trees for such narrow sites needs to be REMOVED!! We had to have the trees trimmed because they are touching the coach and we could not put our awnings out. Big rig sites are too close and too close to the highway. Stopped buying all that junky gravel and put some trees up against your fence to act as a buffer to the highway!
What a difference a year and new ownership makes. Last year we stayed here for two nights and hated the unkept and uncaring staff. BUT this year a new owner and the staff was very pleasant. The lack of no trees: well hello we are in the desert and so for the dog run, please tell me one dog owner that really cares where their dog does it's business? They normally let the dog stop and do it where ever the dog wants. After all the dog actually walks the owner not the other way around. Anyway, I found this park to be doing a super turn around from last year! Still is over priced, but that is KOA!
A nice place. Well maintained. The other review complained about not having fire-pits, well this is an RV park and not a campground and with the fire problems in Arizona I can completely understand. We prefer a RV park rather than a campground. We stay there every time coming along I-40 and have taken the train to the canyon, what a super experience. Every time we have stayed here we have not unhooked because we enjoy Route 66, and it is within easy walking distance. This is very easy in, and out. Our rate was CampClub USA.
This is a good place to stop for a break. The staff is always nice and helpful. Would have given it a 10, but the sites do tilt a little to the left, but they are nice cement slabs. It is easy in, easy out.
This is by far the best place in Las Vegas. We have checked other parks out, and this is our place in this city. Office staff has always been very nice to us and always gives us a great site. The grounds are well maintained, and we feel very safe with all the security around. We always have a nice pull-thru.
Agree with the other review -- trees too close and too many. Also when we checked in and had to go inside the RV office it was so smokey they need to get a regular office. The sites are level and easy to get in and out; we have a 43" motorhome with a tow and did not have to unhook.
Park is ok. But as usual the extended stay people do not have to obey the rules. Dogs were unleashed, speeding through the park. Ok for an overnight but not for more time than that. At this rate it's not worth it. No cable TV, no WiFi. Actually nothing but hook-ups. We paid less than this in Tucson at a resort.
We usually stay here but this time is felt different. The activities have slowed, even for the off-season and the staff in the bar/grill was not really liking their jobs (or so it seemed). Might bypass this park the next time through Tucson! The sites are not super, the ownership packs them in like sardines and that is sad. The park models have plenty of room but the people who drive these huge coaches are squeezed in with no room for a nice evening sitting outside. Oh and no shade! Who designs these parks anyway??? Rate reflects weekly rate for Thousand Trails members plus a resort fee. Ever wonder why you have to pay a resort fee when these resorts is not really a resort off-season?
After staying at a couple very unfriendly parks before arriving here, we were very pleased to be received with a smile and an Escapees hug! Sites are level and it is easy in/easy out and when driving a 45' motorhome towing a SUV. These are important facts. The rate is an Escapees rate.
We have stayed at this KOA before and always had the same site but this time they wanted to put us in a site that our tow vehicle would have a hard time fitting. Of course the office was closed, as usual from around 10 - 2 pm. We were lucky the owner was around: he parked us where we usual park. He could not understand why they would have assigned us the site they did, but in the end he is responsible for his staff, so their actions reflect his KOA. The cafe was closed for dinner, this did not make sense either. You have weary travelers who are hungry but no: No eating here! Rate includes KOA discount and taxes.
We have always stayed at this park along IH 10. But we can say that we will not stay here again. As in most RV parks, there is a turnover of staff and this turnover was not a good. Felt like we was bothering them invading their space, but not to wonder, we will not invade again! And the WiFi is non-existing! Why say you have WiFi when you do not? We drove into McDonald's in Fort Stockton to use their WiFi. Owner needs to understand RVer's like a smile on the faces of the people in the office!
This park is well maintained and the staff always helpful and friendly. Two camp hosts so if you need something you can always find someone. Rate is monthly rate. One of the best military parks we have visited. Will always use when in San Antonio.
Really do not know how Trail Life rates this park so high. It is actually a camper park, 95% of the sites was permanent people and the park is very unkempt. The owners gave us the feeling they really are not interested in making you feel welcome. While checking in, the owner was not polite. We were in town for a bowling tournament and the local people said they were sorry that Odessa could not offer anything better than this park for RVers. It is dusty, we will have to wash our toad and motorhome for sure. We travel in a 43 footer and tow a small SUV: had to unhook to even drive to our site. So when they say big rig friendly, I think not! Everyday we had to move our vehicle so a rig parked next to us could get out. So, this is not even an overnight stop if you are a big rig.
Price is based on KOA card. Super place. We always use this coming and going from San Antonio. The owner and staff is great! Grounds well maintained and they improve every time we stop. From the welcoming waves to the good bye waves, you always feel at home. As others say it is pricey but the owner and staff are always improving things so it is ok to pay more. Big rig friendly and they REALLY mean it.
This park is unkempt, weeds everywhere. Loads of extended campers with run-down units, really looks junky. They have covered sites in the back and that was really in sad condition. People not friendly. The most level sites and away from the extended stay campers was only 30 AMPs and needing 50 amps we was close to the very run-down area. The noise from the highway, trains and all the extended stay campers driving up and down the road help made this stay unpleasant. Would only stay here again in an emergency and only for one night. The extended stay campers do not obey the rules and they make you feel you are invading their space. The sites are very narrow.
Rate reflects military, they give a discount to active and retired military. Very well-maintained park and nice people. Sites are gravel and long. Most are pull-throughs. We have stayed here before and will stay here everytime we are in the area. Would have given them a 10 if their sites faced north so you could have some afternoon shade on the patio area. We have a 43 footer towing a SUV and would not have to unhook if you didn't want to.
Well maintained park. Most sites are level and pull throughs. Staff for friendly. Close to train tracks and they are rumble by a lot but very slowly. Didn't disturb since the A/C was running most of the time. We have a 43 footer and had plenty of room. They also have a pad for your car and with a grass patio area. Would stay here again.
Great place to park for sightseeing or gambling. All pull throughs and concrete pads and all face north. Facing north is great, makes nice shade in the afternoon to enjoy the outside on your patio area. The staff at the office was very helpful and friendly. Easy access to I-20 and very easy to find. Interior roads good and sites are wide enough that we had go problem with our 43' motorhome towing a SUV.
It is a great location for sightseeing Meridian and the surrounding areas. The owner of the park takes pride in his park and it shows. The sites are level and long and very well maintained. The previous review said he allows a lot of extended stay, that was not the case during our time, the few extended stay he allows are very neat, the owner will not allow his coach and RV park to turn into a trailer park. We have a 43' motorcoach with 4 slide-outs and we had no problem getting in or out or leveling. Great place, will stay here every time coming and going. Easy to get to off I-20 and we felt totally safe the whole time we was there.
Considering this is not a "campground" this is a place for the Tiffin owners to come for service. (I do not know of what other company that has over a 100 full hook-up sites for their owners) Everyone has been super here and very helpful. This is our first time here and will for sure return each time our coach needs servicing, even if it is just a routine change of oil and fluids. It is so nice to be parked where the sites are level and the streets are wide for motorhomes/coaches. But of course this is Tiffin, and he always takes care of his motorhome owners.
We stayed at this campground because we read reviews about how level these sites are. The site we were assigned was so unlevel the coach came a foot of the ground on the driver's side. The staff was willing to move us, but after looking at the other sites offered we decided they were worse than our assigned site. One of the staff members came and told us to pull over to the passenger side more, which we did. The coach really didn't like that, but at least it handled it better. So we leveled in that position, but the slope of the site was so bad we cannot get the basement doors opened. We drive a 43' motorhome so I guess the people that said this was level were driving something much, much smaller. The sites slope from side to side and front to back.
Believe me this is no campground! This is a well maintained RV Park! Staff was wonderful, bath/showers very clean. Most of the sites are level. Gravel sites with grass and trees. Would for sure stay here again without a doubt. Keep an eye on this park it will do nothing but improve. A must use when in this area. A little tricky getting to the street but just follow the signs even if you think you are going into a parking lot, but it will lead you to the street.
The pull through sites up front are not very level, they slope to the front and you can't back up to the most level part because of the location of the sewer. Anyway, we got level with some effort and then the circuit breaker popped. The owner and maintance person came immediately and plugged us into the site next to ours until they could replace the breaker, that only took a couple of hours. Their response to a problem was super. Would stay here again and hope the owner gets the sites more level.
The owner of the park was very nice and helpful. The setting is country and so serene we would for sure use this park any time we are in the area. Sites and roads are gravel but we had no problem leveling our big rig
As the other review said, the manager (who is also the owner) was never friendly and we were here for two days. The sites and streets are so narrow if they had parked someone in front of us we would not have gotten out. The owner was more worried about not having workcampers (wonder why, with her attitude). They thought having 50 amps makes it big rig friendly. I think not, we need move to maneuver. We were not able to use our satellite and they do not have cable TV. Not really a big rig park, and we will not come back.
This park is super friendly and well-maintained. Large sites. Easy in/easy out. A great place to stay while you visit the Amana Colonies. We was only there for two days but intend to stay longer the next time.
