Based on the prior reviews we had planned to spend the night here in our 27' travel trailer. Before checking in we noticed the sign that the campground was for sale. The small above ground salt swimming pool had cloudy water. The wife said the restrooms (total of four) had one toilet and one shower in each. Since we were traveling with 3 children we decided to continue west to try to find more suitable accommodations. Campground would probably be fine for a self-contained, overnight stay.
Very nice publicly owned campground on Lake Shawnee. Site was level but sloped to the rear, room for slides and awnings. We stayed in a 30 amp site and the restrooms by these sites appear to be relatively new and air conditioned. Nice laundry room in each restroom building too. Campground has its own swim area, but each site can get 4 passes to the public swim area which has slides, water trampoline and water fountains. Our kids had a blast at the public swim area. Highly recommend.
This RV park is also known as Taylor Park Trading Post, it is located very near the Taylor Park Reservoir. You are high up in the mountains here, so don't expect a lot of frills. But if fishing, hiking, ATVs or mining are you thing, this is a great place to stay. The sites were level. The restrooms and showers look new and are very clean. Since everything is gravel, it is a bit dusty. An added bonus is the new cellphone tower erected very near the campground.
This was a stopover for us on a longer trip. I would have rated this campground higher had the site we had been level. Since the site was not level I had to disconnect for the night and spent a lot of extra time leveling our trailer which is not fun late at night after a long drive. The restrooms and showers were clean and the staff was friendly. Their fuel discount though is a joke, diesel was cheaper just up the road we found out. The nightly rate of $40 we paid was for two adults and three children including any taxes
This was a stop over campground on a longer trip. Very friendly staff and very clean restrooms and showers. The sight was very level allowing us to leave our trailer hitched overnight for a quick departure in the morning. The added bonus was a copy of the local paper on our doorstep in the morning. I would stay here again if passing through.
