This was our second visit. Nice large park. Our hook ups were in odd placement & spread out this time. Near ocean & small bay. The cottages are very nice. Plenty of friendly & helpful camp hosts. We would return to Turtle Rock, again.
This is our third visit to the Waldport KOA. What a surprise to find that this park has gone through a renovation. Many sites are now gravel. Previously, sites were dirt & grass. Many more cabins added to the park. New playground equipment has been added. This park has a great view of the bay, bridge & of Waldport. Hope to come here for a fourth visit...
OK campground. Nice & quiet. Newer campground. No trees, but that isn't a problem as Eureka is usually overcast. Great for adults. This was good for our one night we spent there. I would not consider this a park for young families.
This is a nice park to stay at. Well maintained & landscaped. However, park would not honor original terms of reservation made in January 2008, for July 2008. We were a party of 3 families with children & requested 3 adjoining spots. We received an email confirmation stating such terms a few days after we made the reservation. Upon arrival in July, we were told our spots were not adjoining & that they do no guarantee spots. When we showed our confirmation email, we were to we weren't supposed to receive that confirmation. Since it was the week of July 4, there weren't many options to find another park to stay at. Management did give our one separated family 2 night credit for not being in an adjoining spot. Most of the staff was friendly & helpful. Seems the staff was around during the daytime hours. One visitor decided to cut some pallets & other wood with a chainsaw at 9 in the evening...No staff to be found, even with all the noise. I would have rated this park a 9 if they would have honored our original agreed terms & if they showed up to have the chainsaw noise stopped. We will not return to this park, as there are so many other RV parks along the Oregon coast to try.
This is our 2nd time here. Is a nice, quiet campground, separated from the mobile home park. Staff was friendly & most live on-site. This CG is not as busy as Campland & that's why we choose this park. Wifi worked fine. Great view of ocean & the bay. Yes, there is chain link fencing but it didn't bother us. The only downside that I don't understand is there change in the reservation policy. When making a reservation, you are not allowed to request a specific spot. This CG has been near empty both times we've stayed.
Campground is next to the Rivernook. It is a smaller CG. The hosts are awesome. Some sites have 50 amp & cable TV hookup. Tent campers are allowed to use the same spots as RVers. Only a few spots are large enough for 35 to 40 foot motorhomes or 5th wheel, be specific when you call. Good rules regarding playing of music & barking dogs. We took our dogs & there were no issues. We will definitely be back.
Great view of the lake. Some spots are nearly level, bring boards to level. Park is run out of general store/gas station. Park was supposed to be full but was on 40% full. I think it could be managed better but still it is an awesome location overlooking the lake. Restaurant & steakhouse serve good to great meals. We'll go back, hope it's still there!
Absolutlely my worst RVing experience. Run by n beer drinking, power-tripping manager. Spaces too small for 37' RV. Caters to long term residents. Go up the street to Big Bear Shores or Serrano campground.
We used this as an overnight stopover. This is a classic park originating from the 1930s. Management very accommodating. Given a long list of rules which was to respect neighbors & environment. Common sense list. Even though this is also a senior mobilehome park, the setting is impressive. There appeared to be a number of RVers staying for more than one night.
Friendly staff. Campground is all pavement. Handy for Vegas strip & casinos. We had been to Circus Circus before & knew of the campground. We had no lofty ideas of our stay. But, we went to spend time in Vegas & the MH was a place to sleep. It worked out ok.
This is an average KOA on an excellent piece of property. We came in with no lofty expectations. Park was recommended based on location, on beach and bay. Campsites are soft dirt and we needed to put blocks under the jacks. But, it was just nice to relax. Park was busy at office/restroom area but quiet at our campsite. No problem parking our 37' MH. Just be sure to tell them what you have when you make a reservation. Restrooms needed regular cleaning due to constant use. Very busy but we had expected that. Wi-Fi was free very very unreliable to use. (That appears to be the norm for RV park Wi-Fi) Staff was extremely accommodating, even when we had to leave due to a family emergnecy. Gave full refund for unused time. We would go back again. Awesome location.
