The owner of this place is about the nicest guy you could meet, and that's why he got a 7. Really this place is in transition - he's got some work going on, and some expansion of the pond and that will help make this place a little nicer. Just a basic spot to put your rig while you visit your kids at ECU. (which is about 10 minutes away). Not very level lots, but tons of water pressure and 50 amp service. The lake is LOADED with turtles and I managed to catch a little brim (no bass or catfish - but I was told they are in there). Again, this is just a basic spot, but with the big old trees, the small man-made lake, the location close to ECU and just a really, really nice guy running it, it's worth a good rating.
Camped right on the water. A little misleading since it's actually NOT on the Gulf of Mexico side, it's on the sound side so although you're right on the water, it's not RIGHT on the beach. Really small park with a dog walking area that's about 10 feet by 8 feet. Literally. And no fence, just a sign and a couple of posts with steel cable around it. I loved the proximity to the actual beach, dining, etc. The only thing that was a hassle was that there was nowhere close by to do grocery shopping of any kind. You will either want to bring a toad, or stop for groceries on the way in. The narrow bridge (super windy) isn't exactly where you want to bicycle or moped into town. Typical touristy restaurants very close by so you get a little bit of live music noise, but with the wind you don't hear it that much. Very relaxing place.
Really nice place. Very clean, mostly high end motorhomes and 5th wheels. We felt a little out of place in our dirty old Class C. VERY nice heated pool, great walking track around the man-made lake. Was a little confused as to why you couldn't walk your dog around the lake, but I know plenty of people that don't clean up their dog's waste, so I guess I get it. VERY nice outdoor kitchens with refrigerators, bar, TV, fire pit, several gas grills that anyone is free to use. The only reason why this place is not a 10 is that it was in the middle of an industrial type area right off the highway. The view was essentially giant electrical poles. Don't remember exactly what I paid, but it was about $50.
