Wide open spaces. Ocean view from some. A very clean beach. We drove to San Francisco about 30 miles north. Like San Francisco, this area tends to be cold and windy, so bring extra blankets. Were able to get excellent broadband and cell service. The town of Half Moon Bay was delightful.
Wonderful location a few blocks from the action in Monterey. Very helpful camp host. We rode bicycles to the wharf, cannery row, maritime museum, Pacific beach, etc. The only problem we had was the RV park is sloped so much that we were on the lower side of the parking lot and fluids flowed downhill from the campers higher up. I think it was water. And they must be redoing the golf course. Heavy equipment was working nearby into the night, one night. The white noise wasn't too bad. Good value for the location.
This very shaded park is operated by the City of South Lake Tahoe. Beautiful with views of Lake Tahoe in the distance. Lots of rules by snippy people, but for what it is, where its located, it was a good value. There were a number of large 32 feet plus fifth wheels and motorhomes in the 34 plus feet, but a lot of huge pine trees to negotiate. Electricity in only 50 of the spaces, which costs $8 more. Base rate is $23 plus $8 for electricity.
We reserved this spot with much trepidation following recent reviews (using Passport America,) but extended our stay to a total of 6 days. If you want to "go camping," then go to the woods. If you want to visit San Diego, being minutes from everywhere, then stay here. We felt very safe in spite of being in downtown San Diego! The staff was friendly, and overall the grounds well maintained. Yes, there were lots of kids around, but we love hearing the sounds of laughing children. The site are small, and there were lots of dogs barking, but all was quiet from 10:00 PM til 7:00 AM. We would definitely return.
