I agree with the previous poster: This is NOT a good campground. Roads are too narrow, Internet access is almost nil. The campsites are unmarked and too small. The showers have NO shower curtain, showers are 25 cents for 6 minutes, of which 2 minutes is ice cold water and the other 4 minutes you get a trickle of water from the shower head - and you can't adjust the hot and cold water at all. No light outside the washrooms, so you can't even see in the dark where you are going. Now the posted speed limit is 10 km per hour and most people abide by the speed limit. Would we stay here again? No. The owners stop trying to get all the money they can and put some money back into the campground and improve what could be a decent place. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
Center field is too cramped/tight for the campers they try to put in there. We have a 32 foot trailer. Access around the majority of the campground can be difficult as most paths are older/narrow with no directional navigation and with extra vehicles parked along side further narrowing the access. There are some other sites easier to get at, you have to be careful where you are put depending on what type of trailer you own. Lacks security, lacks a lot of the familiar campground rules such as enforced quiet time which leads to noise from other campers all night which will lead to sleep disruption. No security system in place for tracking visitors/campers which leads to excessive vehicles/people in the park. When we failed to reach the office/security when there was a late night issue, an email was sent about the incident and we never heard back. We won't be going back. Most of the campground staff were friendly and helpful. The Internet access was very unpredictable and only available up by the office. There were times the office was closed, frequently in the mornings till noon, so Internet access was limited. The internal roads were pretty good but very narrow. Only wide enough for one way traffic even though it was two way traffic. The campsites were uneven on the side of a hill, so it took a lot leveling to setup. The camp sites were very tight and unmarked so people park where they want making it very difficult to get your rig out when it was time to leave. The laundry facilities were in need of repair, so we took our laundry to another place. I feel the campground is way over rated for its amenities because of the quality of the facilities. It was supposed to have a heated pool, but it wasn't open. The rate was very high even though we had a Good Sam discount. The location is excellent if going to the beach or Anne of Green Gables. However there many other campgrounds around. I won't stay at this campground in the future. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We were delighted to return here. This is a friendly campground with activities for kids. Big rec hall with WiFi hotspot. Our Direct TV worked there. But phones and WiFi in the RV were not too strong. We love this campground and the folks who run it. Don't miss the Céilidh Kaylee dance at Bracken Beach. Happy to recommend this campground. We were very disappointed with this park. We had a 30 amp pull through site and had to back up our motorhome to get out when we left as there were cars parked everywhere on the narrow roads making it impossible to pull ahead. Our fridge kept cutting in and out on gas as the 30 amp was not adequate and we weren't running AC. A great way to burn out the igniter. Campfires were going all night and we had to keep our windows shut as the smoke was terrible. Internet was only available at the office and we could not get on the several times we tried, too many people trying for the few ports they have. 11:30 at night there were screaming kids, bikes and people running through the sites. This is surely a party place lots of drinking and noise. It advertises satellite friendly but the wooded sites were not and we had no TV reception for any local channels. We will not return here! This was a very nice RV Park. Our site was facing the ocean which allowed us to see the various jet skis pulling tubers around. Thew bugs weren't too bad which allowed us to have campfires. They sell pizza by the slice or the whole pizza and it was excellent. The pool is quite large which accommodated the kids in the park. It was a convenient location on PEI to the Oyster Bridge Stock Car and Drag Racing track as well as central to go different directions for sightseeing. The park has many seasonal RV'rs which is fine as they leave some of the best sites for transient campers. I would return to this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
On reserving a spot, we asked for a place to fit our motor home and one that is Satellite Friendly. They said that there would be no problem. When we arrived, there was no Satellite Friendly site available and with the crowds, there was no site that we could fit in easily. From "no problem" to "nothing available" ... Don't trust these people! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Excellent campground - they even escort/guide you to your site. Each site has picnic table and fire pit. Lots of activities for kids. Despite number of kids around, campground was very quiet by waterfront. Even lent me some tools to fix my awning. Pool, store, organized activities, mini put, arcade, laundromat, even has propane tank re-filler and wood bundles. We will definitively return. Mini-put course requires a little work/improvement as well as an adult swim time (not avail when we were there) would have been appreciated (The addition of both would have earned them a "10"). This is a large, well organized and well run RV Park. Most sites are partially shaded, the 50 amp pull-thru sites are in the open, closest to the river front, however there is no access to the water. From a motor home point of view there are two problems; the garbage bins and the washrooms are both quite a distance from the pull-thru sites. The free Wi-Fi access is only in the office building and even that is very spotty. We camped here in a Motorhome.
