We stayed here for 5 nights with adult family over Thanksgiving. Sites are large, we had no problems with ours being off-level to any large degree. To address another posters concern, you can indeed get set up on your site and then go check in. In fact, we were advised to do just that. Restrooms were clean, well heated for our cold stay. We did have what appeared to be a long-time camper next to us with some junk outside his rig. In general, the park was not crowded and we had no problem in inviting some military friends to come for dinner who lived in the area. Wi-Fi is available, I think we were on site 60 - the last row by the bathrooms. Reception wasn't that great, but better than our AT&T cell service. Calls were a problem. The staff was very nice. The base is located a bit away from Williamsburg, but for the rate compared to the public campgrounds, it is worth the drive. We have already booked another stay in June of 2014. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park (at least this new section) is brand new onboard Cheatham Annex of Yorktown Naval Weapons Station. It's still undergoing some minor issues as it's being set up (still waiting for dumpsters and the laundry was not working), but it has paved roads with pretty long concrete pads, much more big rig friendly than the older part of this park. It would have been nice if they would have engineered it to have pull-through sites, but there is plenty of room to maneuver. Being brand new, all the hookups were in good working order. Fire rings/grills and big nice picnic tables at every site. Did not see anyone from MWR coming around but base police drove through every couple hours. Gave it a 7 for a couple reasons. The check-in requires you to drive to the very end of the base and kind of wind around, only to go back to the front of the base where the park is. As they assign you a site with your reservation, think they should let you set up and then drive down to the office without your rig. There is absolutely NO signage on B Street until you get to the very end and you see the park, but it gives you the impression of a road you may not be able to turn around in once you get back there. Signs at B Street would be nice-there are very good signs once you get to the park though. The other reason is the Wi-Fi. There is none, and even our Verizon hotspot could barely get the mail. Our neighbor had AT&T and had no signal on hotspot or cell. I suspect that because it's located in a previously unpopulated corner of the base, no one ever worried about coverage back there. Something that needs to be addressed, either provide Wi-Fi or address the cell coverage. Sites 43 and above are situated on a small rise, and are probably the most unlevel of the park both side to side and front to back. It doesn't appear that level was a priority when they poured those slabs. However, even with all that, and some of that will work itself out, it's still the best deal you will get at Williamsburg. It's 100 yards from the front gate to Colonial Parkway and a straight shot to Jamestown, Yorktown and Colonial Williamsburg. The base laundromat is located with a small exchange and they have diesel on base. There is a large Target and department stores within 10 minutes of the base. Would happily stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
