Rate reflects the Good Sam rate in the adults only/executive section of the park. Phenomenal RV park! No complaints whatsoever. Very beautiful setting. Everything is in tip top shape. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the adults only section, and the adults only pool. Water, power, and cable were good. Wi-Fi was OK, it took some constant tinkering, as some networks seemed to "time out" or freeze up. But, there are enough Wi-Fi networks available, I would just connect to another network and it worked fine. BBQ dinner and ice cream social on Sunday night for the Labor Day weekend were well attended. My only wish is that this park was closer than 4 hours from home for us. We will be back for sure, and I would recommend this park to anyone. Office staff and grounds staff were great, and the store in the office was well stocked, and had very fair prices ($3 for a good sized bottle of BBQ sauce, probably would have cost $4 or $5 at HEB). This is our favorite park we have stayed in yet, and we did so based on the reviews on this site. Thanks Buckhorn for a great time, and keep up the outstanding work! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Excellent RV park. Site was a long, concrete, level pad with plenty of room between sites. No real shade to speak of at the waterview sites, so took a pull-through. Our site (#6065) had lots of shade, so would recommend. Wi-Fi worked great, and cable had plenty of channels. Easy access from I-10, but a little road noise comes with that. Couldn't hear the noise inside the RV. Plenty of walking space, and there is an off-leash dog park. Rate reflects a Good Sam discount. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Do not often give a 10 but this is one RV park with resort in the name that actually is one. Level concrete pull-through and back-in sites. Rate is for back-in with Good Sam discount. Good facilities, e.g., event hall, 2 pools, etc. Has a private owner-only access area, an adult only area, and a general area. Laundry is a bit pricey but comes with the upscale features. Curbside daily trash pickup. Will stay here the next time through this part of TX. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an exceptionally good resort. All pads are level concrete and all drives are asphalt or concrete. Grounds were neat. There is an excellent park for walking dogs that includes a large fenced area for activities off leash. Our rate was a rally rate. There were excellent meeting rooms for the rally. Only downside was constant noise from gasoline engines on pressure washers during the day. It is an upscale community and many "coach washers" were on site each day. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nightly rate for river view (well worth it!). Showers large and clean, heated swimming pool. Hookups were great, good water pressure and electrical power. Concrete pads, asphalt roads, landscaping. (We choose our parks based on RVParkReviews.com, so we "luck out" more often than not.) We would give this one an 11 if it were possible. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We are in our 12th year of fulltime RVing and this park is in the top five of all the parks we have stayed. There are very few parks in this country where the WiFi is good. So, we have our own MiFi which is what anyone who really needs the internet should have. Thus said, I give this park a 10/10 rating. Friendly staff, convenient, good cable, clean, nice sized lots. This is a big rig friendly park. Showers and laundry are a little far from perimeter. Has leased sites across the stream and an adult only section. Facilities are well planned and sites are separated nicely, with many trees. Utilities all functioned properly. Although in sight of I-10, noise is minimal. Easy distance from Fredricksburg. Very nice resort. Concrete pads and roads, well maintained facility with a nice store (wine!) and cabins (we didn't use them). Decent WiFi. There are fancy houses on the other side of the "river/lake/whatever" that divides the motor homes (etc) from the houses. It was a little too up-scale for us. The only reason this place doesn't get a 9 or 10 is the road noise, which is aggravated by tire noise on the I-10 bridge. We would stay here again especially if we want to explore the hill country. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is very nice but I can't give it a 10 because the WiFi is very slow. Neither of the pools are heated even though the park is full. Yes it is immaculate with paved roads, concrete pads, grass, two pools, fitness center, most pull thrus, a stream, and ponds. At the price and with such great amenities, it is inexcusable today to have such poor WiFi. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a really nice park in a great location to travel and visit the Hill Country. The TV was OK, nice pool and activity room. There is also a very good store. The lots are adequate in size. There is entertainment in the barn that comes to the resort for a dinner and show. When I was there they had a country singer that had a few records out and people came from outside to hear him. There are trips from the resort by bus. The downside is the Park is pricey. $245 a week plus electric. I was charged $40 for one weeks electric and because I didn’t read the meter when I got there. Oh well. I have never had a electric bill over $118 a month at their .14 Kw rate. They advertise free internet and it is basically non existent. But you can buy internet from them for $7 a week. I had propane delivered while I was away and that was added to my bill but I never got the bill. I really liked the place but I felt like I got nickel and dimed at every turn. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Not as "homey" as some of the other TX Resorts we have frequented but nothing missing from being a true Resort. Pools (one adult and one kid friendly), exercise room, event hall, outdoor grill, fishing on the property, large off leash dog park, kids play area, seemed a little narrow getting to our site and a bit hard to turn our 45' around the corners, but there were some shaded sites and we fit fine with all 4 slides out. There is the ability to lease casita's if you own a Class A rig. Lots of events. On the down side, close to major highway, very near large utility wires and I only was able to get WiFi after 11pm. Other than road noise, it was quiet. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Upper tier of RV parks/resorts. Absolutely the best in amenities. There is a new off-leash dog run area that is huge and grassy. We love Buckhorn and will definitely come here again. This is a very well maintained, well managed and spotlessly clean Resort. Staff were helpful and friendly at check in. Roads are paved. Sites are concrete, ours was a pull through and very level. Big rig access was good. Very quiet with plenty of space around the RV to park the towed. The landscaping is wonderful, plenty of shade trees, grass  and shrubs between each site with a table and chairs on the concrete patio. The pools and spas are spotlessly clean and have a lovely view from the deck. The lakes and ponds are stocked for catch and release fishing. Bathrooms and laundry are the cleanest I have ever seen, well equipped and well thought out. Pet friendly and lots of places to walk your pet, or let them run free in the Dog Park, pick up bags are every where, and they do have a strict pick up after your pet policy. WiFi is marginal  but cell is good. Plenty of food stores, restaurants and sightseeing are close by. We would stay here again.  We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful park with all paved roads and sites. It is definitely upscale and is truly a resort. The park is very clean and well maintained with helpful staff. It is a very nice to walk around. The only problem was the Wi-Fi, which was unusable. This was made worse by the fact that our Verizon aircard would not work in this area due to poor reception. This has to be the nicest and prettiest park we have stayed at in the country. It is spectacular. We had a site in the adult only section and we loved it and would choose this section when we returned. The sites are very spacious with a private patio with furniture. Everything is spotlessly clean and manicured. The landscaping is superb. The bathrooms, laundry and pool area are immaculate. I could not find any fault with the park at all. The owners are super nice and helpful. This is #1 in our book and we will definitely return. The other park in town is very nice but this one is the best. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here 15+ years ago and looked forward to seeing this park again. We were disappointed for a number of reasons. We stayed here on the second Sunday in October and had a FHU, pull-through site. The site was not level and it took 2 boards to get level. There were only 36 channels on the cable TV. Most sites appear to be satellite friendly. The WIFI worked at first, then dropped every few minutes, and finally disconnected for goo about 7 PM. The office was already closed by this time so I could not ask them to reboot the system. The park was less than half full, so user overload was probable not an issue. When I first checked the bathroom, it reeked of feces. In case it was just a matter of bad timing, I checked 3 more times during our stay. The potent stench was evident with every visit. Some facilities were not available on a Sunday night in October. I did not find the staff as accommodating as others have. When asked about the availability of coffee (available only in the morning) and a vending machine (large bottles of pop can be bought at the store), the response was rather snippy - as was their reply when asked about recycling. 5 RV parks in Texas on this trip and none does any recycling. Then there is the prominently displayed photograph of the young girl of maybe 7 making the obscene gesture with her finger as part of a political statement. If you want to express your political beliefs, fine. Just don't use a young child to do it. From the facilities not being good or working properly to the staff attitude, we did not have a "10" experience.. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice resort - excellent rally facilities (rate is rally rate), although there didn't seem to be any effort to put all rally attendees together. Very nice pools and hot tubs. Beautifully manicured lawns. Very few shady spots. Back-in spots may not allow you to stay hooked up, but pull-thru's are plenty long. The freeway noise is fairly significant, 24/7. The Wi-Fi was not good at all - constantly dropping the signal. The area is not great for Verizon Mifi - you only get 3G, although cell phone reception was fine. (That's true of Kerrville in general). We would stay again (for a rally only). We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

No question, the nicest RV resort we have stayed at. The roads are wide, paved, and the pads are cement with an adjoining patio area. The office staff is excellent and will go out of their way to make you visit enjoyable. The resort and the facilities are immaculate, and the sites are level with either a picnic table or table and chairs provided. They also offer RV storage if needed. Electricity is billing based on usage. The WiFi was good 95% of the time. This is a destination resort. We definitely will return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice Resort. We stayed in the executive section during the Labor Day weekend. Well laid out with space, concrete pads, patio with grass around. They had four chairs with a round table in each of the sites, other areas had picnic type tables. There is a pet play area which had plenty of space in it and one bench for the park to use. Also they provide pet "pet waste bags" at various stations around the park. Unfortunately, the drought has had an effect on them, drying up several of their man-made ponds. There was a water restriction going on. Still there was a catch and release small pond that we saw people and their kids using. Had a nice Saturday morning breakfast and a Sunday evening BBQ and ice cream social. Wi-Fi was not so good at our location, weak signal and kept dropping. I thought was strange because their access point looked like it was straight across me on the next street over. We will definitely return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is easily one of the nicest, most well planned and executed parks in the country. Whoever designed this park should be doing more of the same elsewhere. The price reflects a rally rate that is much lower than the usual $42 a night. There is a separate ‘adults only’ section with 20 sites with it’s own pool, restrooms, showers and laundry. There are another 111 sites in the rest of the park with a second pool, restrooms, showers and laundry. The park itself is very well maintained with long, spacious concrete pads. The water pressure and electricity were all good with an easily accessible mid-pad sewer connection. The roads are all paved, nice and wide for maneuvering a big rig. Sites are angled to facilitate easy backing in or pulling through. Although the WiFi was free, frequently it was painfully slow or very often would disconnect altogether. Normally that wouldn’t have been so bad, except the Verizon service was almost non existent, so we were forced to use the park WiFi and suffer with it. DSL is available for a price, but I refuse to pay a park for better internet service, as that just reinforces their business logic of providing poor free service to entice you to pay for it. There is a nice enclosed dog run which our two greyhounds appreciated, and were able to run and chase each other to their hearts content. You can schedule an RV wash or propane delivery at your site and their is daily garbage pickup at your site. To tell the truth though, if it had not been for the rally rate, we would not have considered staying here as it is far to pricey. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Buckhorn Lake Resort is a well kept, clean, and family owned RV park. There are a number of site types. Some of the sites offer a water view which can be anything along the creek that winds through the park. There is a large meeting area which is also used for some meals prepared by the park staff and reasonably priced. The entertainment (usually every 1 or 2 weeks) is pretty expensive. Dinner and the entertainment run around $120 per couple. Breakfast and dinners without entertainment are very reasonably priced. The few meals we've had were absolutely excellent. The park offers occasional bus tours to various destinations around the Hill Country. They have a wonderful activity director and a bus to take you around but don't expect activities such as wood shop. The garbage is left out front in the morning to be collected while we would prefer dumpsters available to dump our own. Let's start with the negative. It's right near the highway, so highway noise can be an issue. If it wasn't for the highway noise this resort would get an easy 9 and maybe a 10. Although the park advertises free WiFi availability, the executive section has zero connectivity. The owner has a few sites in that section with DSL capability for an additional fee of $20/month. We have a Verizon hotspot that would not connect either. The front desk informed us that the park was a Verizon dead zone because Verizon will not pay the fees to connect a cell tower in the area. If voice or Internet on Verizon is important to you, forget this park!! Their new feature is a dog park which is located at the back end of the property and is a mud pit for the most part, with lots of stickers. This resort has wonderful cabins, two great pools, an adults-only RV area and a very pretty location, so why only a “7” rating? The regular sites are packed in, parking-lot style. If you stay here, choose an executive site if you want some space. The location is fantastic for it’s easy-on/easy-off I-10 convenience, but be prepared to hear the hum of traffic whizzing by… all night long. No walking trails, no seclusion… pretty much party central. Seems like a wonderful spot for a Rally or a family reunion. Price reflects weekly rate in "Executive" area including metered electric. It is not a 10 for two reasons: Birds and bird droppings everywhere around our site. Wi-Fi is slow at peak times, and for this price should be fast all the time. That said, we will definitely stay here again when in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

As others have said, It's a great park. Has it all. Two pools, one for only adults in an area of sites only for adults. Fitness equipment could have been better. Beautiful park setting. Stream with ponds full of fish and turtles. They mowed our site grass twice in the week we were there! Very busy, near capacity every night. Many staying for a month or more (Snow Birds, here they are called Winter Texans) but no permanents allowed. Definitely worth a stop. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is one of our favorite parks in the United States. Staff is always friendly and helpful, sites are paved and large, and everything - the grounds, restrooms, pools, buildings: are always sparkling clean. The park offers many activities (but not so many as to be overwhelming), including bus trips to attractions out of the Kerrville area. The only slight negative for the park is the interstate noise. The park would be perfect if an enclosed doggie park were to be built. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate includes special Sweetheart dinner. Lovely park, paved roads and sites. Large grassy area for dog walking. Great gathering hall for events, which seem to be offered regularly. Large outdoor entertainment area with fire pit, large BBQ and bar area. Two laundries, two swimming pools. Extremely clean and well cared for. Close to I-10 so some freeway noise but nothing to complain about. About fifteen minutes from Kerrville proper. Sites are large with some grass and some paved area as well as some rocked sections. Pull throughs and back ins. Just a lovely park. We would most certainly return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We've been here many times in the past on our way to one place or another. This park is one of the few that re-invest in their future which is refreshing compared to many parks across the U.S. The park is well kept and offer many things to do. The one thing that gets under my skin is Wi-Fi. Last year it was seemingly great, this year it is a POS. Dropped all the time, good connection then the next minute: gone?? Not sure who's running the show but talking to some people that are here for a few months, they all seem to say the same thing. It is bearable but for the price, it should scream along the airways. So: Wi-Fi a rating of 5-6. The park: a 9-10. The pools and grounds are very well kept and they are offering live, big name entertainment every month with a dinner show menu. Hope they keep up the good work and fix the Wi-Fi. Will return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice park with excellent amenities. Premium sites are long and spacious and work well for a big rig towing a vehicle. Grounds are nicely landscaped and the Christmas lights were something to see. We used this park for an overnight stop off I-10. Access to the freeway is excellent. In fact, the park is so close to the freeway that road noise is very noticeable and also we could not receive Wi-Fi signal in our coach. Took off 1 point each for these items. Buckhorn is a great RV Resort. Everything is carefully thought-out and well designed and built. First Class all the way. Lots of room for Big Rigs and easy ins and outs. The roads are wide and paved and the pads are cement with large patios and much space between rigs. There are fountains and streams all around the property and the owners and staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and assist any way they can. Location is about 5 miles outside Kerrville and right off I-10. There is some freeways noise as the trucks pass, but it's offset by the ambience of the resort. Restrooms, showers and all facilities are spotless and new feeling. This is our favorite places to stay when in the Texas Hill Country. Spent 10 days here this trip and will be back again. We drive a 45' quad-slide motorhome and we had tons of room for the rig and our Jeep. Fredericksburg and Luckenbach were fun side trips. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This time we stayed for two nights and ended up extending for two additional nights and then three more nights on the way home. What a great park! This resort is not as good as it used to be. The internet was never working. The water lines were filled with air. The sewer was filled with sewer flies. A beautiful campground right off I-10 and about 5 miles from town. Every amenity one might want. We were the only ones using the immaculate pool and it was over 100 degrees. It's dry here now but the park is still in great condition. Not a lot of shady spots but there are some and we were lucky enough to get one under a big oak. We were here about 4 nights and 5 days. Trash is picked up curbside and spots are paved and there's gravel to park a vehicle on. Also, there's grassy areas. We will be staying here again as we have family in the area. We always enjoy our stays here. Since it was the off season, there were no dinners, but the Saturday breakfast was still offered. They are also doing improvements during this slow season, so some sites will have even nicer views when they are done (unfortunately, they executed the serpent). We were in the row right behind the club house, which seems to be a bad spot for Wi-Fi (the point the furthest from all the sources); and the Wi-Fi is important if your air card is from Verizon. Outstanding RV park. Yes, it is close to I-10 but we really didn't hear the noise. It certainly didn't interfere with sleep, and I am a light sleeper. Internet was strong and fast. Cable was good except it went out while we were there, through no fault of the campground. Outstanding exercise facility with lovely view while exercising--two treadmills, two bicycles, elliptical, and 2 universal gyms. Sites were very long, level, and paved. Beautifully landscaped with many activities. Only thing we would add would be trees. Most campsites had at least one planted, but they were mostly small and not positioned to give any shade to the RV, making it hot during the day. We definitely plan to stay here again. This is the nicest RV park in my eight years on the road. An earlier reviewer complained about the Interstate noise. He must have the ears of a bat, it's hardly noticeable during the day and not at all inside the motorhome. The folks I dealt with at the desk were friendly and helpful. For me the most interesting attraction in the area is the Nimitz National Museum of the Pacific War. I wasn't exception much, but was I surprised. Two days and I was only halfway through. I read everything. It's in Fredricksburg, a 30 minute drive. If your diet is not prone to burgers and fries, I hearty suggest the Peach Tree restaurant. It is a nice quiet setting, has a excellent menu, the food is fresh and thoughtfully prepared, the best quiche ever and the serving is the largest ever. It's on South Adams two blocks off of Main Street on the right side. I ate there both days I toured the museum. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a 1st class RV park. We enjoyed our time here very much and made our reservations for next year. This park stays very full and was not available for us to stay longer. We were here 13 days and they did have a weekly rate. The facilities are first rate and their pool is beautiful and clean. The bathrooms were very clean as was the entire park. There are many activities going on all the time and they have a beautiful large bus that they take on trips for the guests. They have a " Meat and Greet" every week where the guests can bring their meat to grill and a dish to share. Everyone cooks their own meat on a large outdoor grill. It is a great park for bike riding. The entire park has concrete pads with a concrete patios and grass. The sites are very large and roomy. The cable TV worked great and the WiFi is very strong. We had no problems with it and best part: it was free. This park is about 6 miles out of Kerrville, but it's a very nice drive into town. The only thing we would give a mark against would be the people in the office. They were not friendly at all. They didn't seem to care if we were here or not, and had a general cold attitude. We were here with a rally of 80 Prevost's and it was wonderful. The only thing that prevents a rating of 10 was the Verizon cell phone reception and internet. Beautiful RV Resort, The staff was out going, helpful, informative and very attentive. Store and gift shop well stocked and reasonably priced. The maintenance of the park is excellent. We stayed in the adult only section, the site was a pull in forward site that gave us a view out the front window of the water filled creek and tree line on the other side. Site was nice and wide, provided partial shade. Well manicured land-scraping. Pool, hot tub, restrooms and showers were spotless. While the name may imply that the park sits on a Lake, don't expect there to be a large lake. Rather a few smaller landscaped/manicured ponds and streams which offer catch and release (no license or permit required). At night the sky was dark black which gave the most fantastic view of the stars glowing above. Park also offers free Wi-Fi and cable at no charge. We stayed 4 nights and used the park as a base for exploring the area. We can't wait to return. The resort also offers on site RV Wash and Wax service as well as LP fill service. Top-notch resort. Very clean, quiet, and well laid out. Management and staff are all helpful and friendly. Surrounding area lacked things to do, but all-in-all worth the stop. Lots of activities in the park, especially the three-times weekly meals and pot-lucks. They have a licensed restaurant that gets good use, and the menu varies and is reasonable. Would have enjoyed it more if the weather had co-operated. Would definitely return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Wow is all we can say. We planned to stay a month and stayed almost two months. One of the best resorts we have been in. We agree with previous comments and want to add that the weekly ‘tech talks’ during the winter months were very helpful. With regard to reservations, schedule adjustments, and most things in general, we were treated like responsible adults. This was very refreshing. Our only suggestion would be that they start having recycling available. The rate reflects a monthly rate plus electricity. We camped here in a Motorhome.

What else can be said? The previous reviews have said it all. This is a fabulous resort. We were only there on a cold, rainy overnight so we did not get to see or use all the amenities, but we walked around a bit, and everything looked really nice. We did use the exercise room which was top notch. There is a day spa, tennis courts, catch and release fishing, putting green, adults only area with a pool, patio café, rally barn, and rental cottages. Other on-site services (RV washing/waxing, repair, propane delivery, etc.) are also available. The staff was great. The roads are all paved, and the landscaping is beautiful and well kept. The sites were paved with ample space and a lighted utility pedestal. The patio had a table, but no grill. There were lots of cable channels, and the Wi-Fi was strong. Both were included with the cost of the site. Particularly beautiful was the area with privately owned lots, but understandably it was off limits to the general public. We would love to come back here and highly recommend it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

After RVing through 40 states, this is our best experience of anywhere; and we have had some very nice ones over the past five years. This park has very nice facilities, with ownership understanding what it takes to be "world-class". We planned to stay two weeks, and ended-up staying 2 months. We will certainly come back to the Buckhorn on our next trip through Texas, because we have already made our reservations for next December. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park was excellent. It had the cleanest restrooms that I've seen so far (even cleaner than the Outdoor Resort we stayed at) and the people were terrific (well, a few members of "The Club" could not lower themselves to talk to us, but most were fine). The activities were excellent--including trips on the park's bus. There were many, many opportunities to get together (meals, movies, barbecues, cookouts, etc.). The park was perfectly groomed and maintained--and the holiday decorations were incredible. The only complaint we had was the internet the last week we were there. They improved the system from what was there earlier in the year and the first 2 weeks there we had zero problems--then it went completely out one day and after that there were intermittent issues. They were working with the provider (I overheard a very heated conversation as the owner was talking to the provider) about getting it fixed. We will definitely be back (actually already have reservations)--it is an excellent place to stay while exploring the Hill Country of Texas (and San Antonio is close by)--Kerrville and Fredericksburg also have plenty to keep you busy. What can you say about an RV park that has EVERYTHING? We stayed there 2 nights, once going to Houston and coming back home. All I can say about the RESORT is that I would like to live there. Everything is manicured and spotless. Only negative thing we can think of, is that the Wi-Fi did not work the second time we stayed, and it was past office hours so there was no way to check. My wife wants to come back and spend more time there, which we will do in the near future. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We were here for a rally and the meeting rooms were top notch as were the catered meals by their staff. Office personal were always helpful and pleasant. I have never rated a park a"10" until I stayed at Buckhorn Lake. We stayed here for a week while visiting the Texas Hill Country. Our site faced a creek (pull in-back out). We had a large concrete pad for the RV and toad and a large concrete patio with a table and chairs. The grass was manicured as if it were a golf green. The dog walking areas were large and I did not see where anyone left "dog business". The Wi-Fi was fast, cable channels and movie availability were wonderful. Although we did not use the fitness area it was available to us. We will stay here again if in the Kerrville area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This continues to be an outstanding park. The office was accommodating of our request to be by the pool, as we have 3 kids. The drawback was that we were next to their "overnight" site, so we had new neighbors every day, with noisy setup and take down. That's not the park's problem though. This place is perfectly manicured, and they had all types of activities for the kids over the 4th of July weekend. They had a couple of hours of potato sack races, bobbing for apples, water balloon tosses, and pop sicles. This all followed a parade of bikes, golf carts and other buggies throughout the entire park. Capping it off was a great fireworks display that night. The playground area is nicely shaded too. We stayed 2+ months. Rate is based on monthly. Pool areas and bathrooms were kept immaculate. Air conditioned fitness room was a major plus. Everything worked. Staff was responsive and friendly. We had to leave early, and were refunded for our unused days, normally an unheard of act in the resort business!! Best RV resort we've been to in our three years of full-timing. We have previously enjoyed our stays here, but the attitude at Buckhorn has gotten arrogant and unfriendly with most of the employees. There policy and rules change with who you speak with and there are now excuses in place of the friendly help we use to receive. The only real complaint we had was that the aircard worked sporadically. This is the first RV campground that called itself a "resort" that is worthy of such an honor. The grocery store was fully stocked, even the wines they sold were quality. They are a full service resort. They will deliver practically anything to your site except for diesel or food. Even disposing of the garbage is done curb side at your site. It doesn't get any better than that. Even the laundry room was a delight. The team in the office helped me quickly to find their repairman Chris. Inexpensive and new at stuff, he put our mind right to ease and made the repairs. I knew we were at a good place. All the staff were friendly. I loved the garbage pickup every morning. Never saw dumpsters. The pool and showers and laundry were right next to our site. The little grocery store was stocked. We did not have to leave, but on a trip to town we discovered the Lake House Fish Restaurant. Best fish this TEXAS girl ever put in her mouth. Fantastic campground! This is the most beautiful park! It is meticulously groomed! It is a tad pricey but definitely worth it! Depending on the time of year, they cater meals & feature movies on their cable system every night. They have a guy that goes to the rigs & does a superior job of washing & waxing rigs - we were pleased by the job he did. Buckhorn also has a handyman that is available to work on the individual rigs & repairs whatever needs to be done (in our case, we needed to have our a/c worked on & he fixed it professionally. The roads are all paved, as are the sites. There are 2 or 3 pools & one of them is for adults only. We also stated in the adult section. The exercise room is clean & the equipment well maintained. Other than Outdoor Resorts, this is the only park that I have rated as a 10. The rate given is for month in the Executive section. No one under 16 is permitted in this area. However, this time of year it really doesn't matter since the kids are in school anyway. In this area the sites are very large with large patios and with a nice table and 4 chairs. The other sites in the park are very adequate size and have bench type tables. There are a very few sites with shade. The "Club" section has lots available on long term lease (30 years) with some beautiful casitas and homes. Free Wi-Fi, not outstanding signal, but adequate. Verizon cell phones--this is an extended area and the signal is weak, but can usually make a call. There is lots to do in the area, Fredericksburg, Luckenbach, vineyards, etc. At out site there is a huge grassy area which makes a beautiful and peaceful setting. I would recommend this resort for long or short term stays. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The check in staff member (man) was not very nice, but everyone else was. Maybe he was just having a bad day. He got aggrivated because we had a discount coupon from the Big Rig book, but didn't tell him first. He should have asked and had to recalculate the fee for the three day stay. I felt that they would give me the discount if I asked but if I didn't they would make more money. I can't blame them for wanting to make a profit but I felt that they were not being totally honest. That is my only complaint. Other than that one person the campground is a 10 plus. They even tell you that you can WASH you coach. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park staff were very personable and helpful. All facilities were maintained extremely well, except some of curves on interior roads need repaving. This is a great destination park near Hill Country and San Antonio. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great resort park. Can be a destination as there are plenty of activities available. We just stayed 1 night as a stopover, but it is what all other parks/resorts should strive for. All driveways and sites are concrete, also grass everywhere. Separate parking for adults only. This is the best there is! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is one of the best campgrounds that we have visited. the sites are large and have easy access. Cable is included. the bathrooms were spotless. The owners go out of their way to meet any reasonable request of a guest. I would recommend this campground for anyone who wants to explore the Texas Hill area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a top rated park and should be a 10 plus. Very large sites and roads. Everything is so clean. Pool for kids and one for adults only. Everything you can think of is here. No open fires on ground. Layout of park is great. WiFi is free and works very well. Kerrville is five miles away for all your needs, super Wal-Mart and good places to eat. Outstanding park to visit. Staff was great and very helpful to me. I could not hear any noise from I-10 from our site and we were on south side near road, I-10 is 1/2 mile away. I only wish more RV resorts were setup like this place. We will return anytime we travel this way on I-10 to spend more time here. We camped here in a Motorhome.

All things considered, facilities, amenities, beautiful setting, easy access. You will not find a nicer park than this one anywhere. Close to everything one would need: shopping, restaurants, San Antonio, etc. The only possible negative for some might be road noise from I-10. A small price to pay for such natural beauty (our humble opinion). We camped here in a Motorhome.

One of a few parks we've stayed in that really can be called a resort park. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Wi-fi service is strong from every part of the park, and they have telephone hookups at each site. The park is just off of the interstate, but highway noise is not noticeable. A great place to stay for a night or a week. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is by far the nicest park we have stayed at, and would deserve a 10, but the last two visits have demonstrated to us that management thinks they are doing you a favor letting you stay in their park. I have reviewed this park each of the 3 times I've stayed, and the numbers are going down. It is beautiful, the grounds are well kept, the facilities are great (although we all miss the Irish Pub), but I really notice the "attitude". And, as my wife says, if I notice it, it must be really bad. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This RV Resort is just as good as everyone says. Staff was very helpful in finding site. Extremely well kept and clean. Pool and spa were outstanding. All roads and sites were paved. Free WiFi was a tad slow at times but very acceptable. Cable channels were clear. I would highly recommend this park for anyone in the Kerrville area. Several nice golf courses fairly close. We loved this resort. Last year when we first became full-timers, this was our first stop. We spent six-weeks here and did not want to leave. It is clean, friendly with large paved sites, large paved roads. It has two pool areas (one is only for those over 16 years of age – the other for families). It has all the amenities that you could want from a resort and it is extremely affordable. Plus, this area of Texas is so beautiful. Kerrville is a lovely little town with a great river running through. The resort is about 20 miles from historic Fredricksburg and an hour from San Antonio. There is caught and release fishing on site. The grounds are very well kept. Plus, for any of your RV maintenance needs, they have contracts with service providers who will come to you – not the other way around. We plan to return there this summer. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

One of the few parks that really justify a 10 notwithstanding the three-foot snake that meandered by our RV shortly after we arrived (remember, this is rural Texas and the snakes were here first). Exceptional facilities that were obviously designed by an architect, not cobbled together by the usual do-it-yourself RV park owner. Wide sites, concrete pads and paved roads. A bit too close to the freeway (take a half point off the rating) but not too bad. Good WiFi. Suitable for a long stay. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

A++++ Highly recommended! One of the nicest (if not the nicest) parks we've stayed in! They have paved roads, paved sites with FULL hookups (even dual-water!) Instant-on phones, free WI-FI, the owners obviously spared no expense on this park! We could LIVE there! They have a stocked stream full of turtles, bass, and catfish. Lots of ducks roaming around. The staff was excellent to say the least! They have a small bar/restaurant that serves excellent Irish cuisine and cuisine native to the area like friend catfish, shrimp, etc. In short this park makes you forget you're in Texas! Cleanest and best maintained park we have ever visited. We make a point of staying there at least once every year as we travel throughout Texas. Quiet park with level concrete pads, park store, immaculate restrooms and showers, pools, spas, breakfast and dinner. They have a reserved area for adults only that we frequent for a tad more quiet even though we have never witnessed any rowdy kids anywhere in the park. I don't see how anyone could complain about this place ("executive area" or lack of an actual "Lake"???). One of the best parks we have ever stayed in - anywhere - period!!! We live close and camp here a couple of time each summer just for fun, to link up with friends traveling through the area, or to use the pool when it hot (and it's always hot down here). Very well done, no expense spared here. Paved roads, nice sites, 1st class hook up's, nice people, convenient to the highway. I think it's the best stop between San Antonio and El Paso. Very nice pet friendly park with lots of exercise space. Wi-Fi available for additional charge, good connection. Rates do vary depending on who checks you in, contrary to another viewers comments. Brother stayed there part of the time we were there. He stayed in 'executive' area with a 'free' upgrade paying lower site rates - he owns a Prevost. Executive area suppose to be adults only, but children were allowed, again depending on who checks you in. We had nice back in site with open pasture at back for a good dog exercise area. Read last review and sounds like disgruntled employee posted it. We have camped there often this summer and talked to many of campers there and found we all paid the same. We have stayed in different type sites there and paid accordingly. Trees are limited but then this is a new campground and trees need time to grow and mature. True there is no lake but there is stocked fishing available. The owners were campers before owners and love to come around and visit with campers there. Last reviewer needs to go elsewhere if they think they were so mistreated. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for one night in 2002 and came back to spend extended amount of time this summer (2003). Found park to be nice, quiet, clean and overall a great park. There are two pools, two bathhouses, two hottubs. The restrooms are complete with 3 showers for each gender in each building and those all are handicap accessible with seats. What a delight! This is a new park, about 2 years old, but well-laid out, attractive, spacious, and staffed by folks whose attitude is: "what can we do for you". The park is close to I-10 with an easy exit and ample entrance/registration room. Staff serves about five tasty specialty meals a week for a nominal price,in a beautiful stone barn, also a great feature for rallies. We stayed 9 days and were not "bothered" by the large number of rally folks in for 5 days. The park is dog friendly, with believe it or not, conscientious dog owners! There are two pools, etc., a park area, swan families in the fishing lakes, a nice store, and at present, before expansion is completed from about 130 sites to 225, plenty of exercise room in a pasture for dogs. Kerrville is about 6 miles away and Fredericksburg, about 25--both are fun and interesting towns to visit. Late April weather was warm in the mornings, but faired off to lovely afternoons and evenings. It is by far the nicest camping experience we've had in 5 years of fulltiming. The owners are in the hospitality business and their attitude begets good campers' attitudes. Don't miss it! Bring your manners when you come, because this doesn't come around often!
