Nice large grassed KOA, with a moderate number of trees. Some sites are gravel, others grass. Most sites slightly sloped. Paved roads. Very clean nice bathhouse with hot water. Wife said laundry could have been cleaner and half of dryers out of order. Very pleasant lady at checkin/store. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Upon first arrival I was not impressed with the sites in this park. They are very small and crammed in with neighbors. They are all open sites and no trees. They allow 2 vehicles per site in addition to the RV so it is quite crammed all the time. The upside to this park was their rec staff who were amazing. They kept the kids busy and were full of energy, their kids kamp was great. The pool was large and clean and open 9-9. Wi-Fi was very poor. A Great spot for kids, but wouldn't want to be there as an adult couple. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We wanted a 50 amp site, however we ended up on a 30 amp. Never really been a problem at other parks, but the electric was barely usable here. You could not run two appliances at the same time; example, a coffee pot and toaster, or the circuit breaker would trip. A check at the post showed 112 volts. The sites we were on were all grass, fairly level, but soft. You will need pads under the leveling jacks. Good water pressure. We were told Wi-Fi had been upgraded to work better, however, as the last poster stated, it is fast early in the morning but as more people log on it slows or stops completely. Some of the interior roads are paved and some are red sand stone, and both are very rough and in need of repair. The entrance road to the park is also very rough and full of pot holes. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The park is very clean and appears everything is well maintained. Lots of kids, but there is enough to do in the park to keep them busy. Things quiet down at night. If the electric was updated we would probably stay here again, but until that happens we would not. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We have been traveling almost full time for 6-½ years and Cavendish KOA is one of the nicest campgrounds we have ever stayed in. The sites are large and the 50 amp sites are level gravel pads with nice green grass around your site. The fire pits are away from your rig. They have a lot of activities for the kids including arts and crafts every day during the week and movies and wagon rides at night. Great place for kids to have fun all day and the cost is included in your camping fee. Some reviews complained about the kids, but they were very quiet during our week long stay. If I had an area for them to improve on it would be their internet service, which is very slow during the day, but faster in the evenings. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Even though this KOA was in a convenient location, we would not stay here again. Other KOAs are in locations where they cater to large numbers of visitors and yet give enough room to make the stay pleasurable. This one seems to have the primary objective of crowding as many customers in as possible. Sites are extremely narrow and crowded. Sites can be no more than 20 feet wide. They allow 2 vehicles plus RV on a site. This makes it extremely difficult for back-in customers. The sand roads were rutted after rains. Entrances to bathhouses and offices were on slopes without steps or rails, which made handicapped access very difficult. The area for RVs to park while registering was too small to accommodate the traffic. Bath houses were extremely dirty, so much that we could not use the showers. There were so many children unattended and running in the roads and riding bikes it made it hazardous to enter or exit the park. Aggressive dogs, not properly supervised, rushed out in attack mode when I tried to walk my well-behaved canine. For senior citizens who are accustomed to quiet parks, this was not an enjoyable stay. We debated whether or not to leave early and seek another RV park, but did not do so because if we had left without returning their security entry key, we would have lost our deposit. The park may be fun for families, I would suggest that seniors look elsewhere. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A very nice campground. Grassy sites, easy pull-through sites available and has wagon rides for the kids. Walking distance to two local attactions. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
As far as a place to park your rig and see Prince Edward Island, this is great. This is a typical KOA campground. Wi-Fi is sporadic, but if you use it off-peak, it is ok. A lot for the kids to do and a lot going on. We were here during several days of thunder storms. The roads flooded frequently. They even brought in gravel to fill some large mud holes. Pull through site was very roomy. There is no cable TV and limited broadcast. Some sites along the woods have the satellite blocked out. Since you are so far north, the dish points almost horizontal. There is a State Park nearby, but it will not accommodate big rigs. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a great campsite if you have children, however, for older folks with less tolerance for many kids... it's a zoo. We are moving to another campsite because of the noise and close campsites jammed together. As stated by another review, having to renew the wifi access every 24 hours seems customer unfriendly. The campsite is close to many activities. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
It is a standard KOA, very close to Cavendish activities. Highly recommend Avonlea (Anne of Green Gables), you can stay there all day and has a great afternoon tea! As for the KOA, it has a jumping pillow and a daily kids program from 9-11. The only complaint is that you have to get a new WiFi code every 24 hours, which is a pain! We camped here in a Motorhome.
First KOA I've stayed in in 20 years. Beautiful and exceptionally well maintained. Grounds immaculate. Since this was the off season, CG staff spaced out campers nicely. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is probably the nicest KOA we've ever stayed in. It has excellent 50 amp power and as noted previously it is clean and well cared for. There seems to be a site for everyone here. Lots of tents around the perimeter and all sizes of RV's . Lots of children but it's not noisy. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Huge back in and pull through sites. Located near Ann of Green Gables sites, and central location on PEI provides easy access to sites all over the Island. Very helpful and friendly staff. Excellent WiFi throughout campground. One of the best KOA Kampgrounds. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
If only all KOA's were as clean and nice as this one! Owners very pleasant and accommodating. The pool is heated but the air temp makes it a bit cool to get out. Our motorhome had plenty of room and 50 amp service. The grass site is well manicured and does not have bare spots, how do they do that ? We will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We debated staying at this one or at Marco Polo, just for one night. This one was fine. Wifi was excellent and free although our access was cut off promptly at 9 am the next morning, even though we could stay until 10 or 11. Sites are a little close together. All appeared to be full hookup. Several caravans were there at the same time -- all sizes of rigs. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Lovely park, wonderful hospitality, great location (can walk to Tim Hortons-doesn't get better than that!!). The kids loved the pie/ice cream social, treasure hunt hayride, and petting zoo (I almost came home with a kitten!!) I loved the security, quiet and water/30amp/sewer. Staff was great with suggestions of things to see and best beaches to swim at. Highly recommend it. We were going for two nights and ended up re-scheduling relatives to stay a third and wish we could have stayed longer. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This park is a solid average KOA which maintains the KOA standard of cleanliness, facilities and friendliness. It’s located a quarter mile from the highway, so there’s no road noise. Close to the well developed Cavendish Beach area, it’s convenient to shopping, water sports and lobster dinners. We camped here in a Motorhome.
