Note: Their phone number is 011- 52- 642-421-1439. The beach was beautiful and had lots of shells and wildlife. Plus, the birdwatching in this area is outstanding. The owners of the RV Park redefined my idea of service. They created and fostered a great sense of community among the campers and between the campers and staff. They even had sweet cats and a dog. The parking lot was just sand and dirt, but it was level and roomy, making it very easy to back in right next to the beach. In addition, the owners have added a new seawall not mentioned in the Church’s book (Traveler’s Guide to Mexican Camping). The owners are continually making repairs and improvements (although three recent hurricanes have made that hard for them). We had some problems with the electricity when we were there, but they were busily re-wiring the entire camp to bring it up to US code. The hose spigots are a tad smaller than US standard, so we had to use a generous wrapping of Teflon tape to get a good seal. We have not noticed this problem in other Mexican parks. Our spot next to the beach was absolutely stunning, and because of the beach’s orientation, you can see both sunrise and sunset over the water. The only down side of being next to the beach was that local residents like to party there in their cars and ATVs. We had a spot close enough to the restaurant to have excellent Wi-Fi, but many people had to sit on the porch to get a signal. The restaurant/office has an outside door that leads to a shower and bathroom. The Point-of-Use water heater on the shower meant that you never run out of hot water (although there’s not a lot of water pressure). When we were there in December and January, the water was warm enough for wading but not for swimming. During our stay, a number of people stepped on stingrays, so we mostly stayed on shore or wore water shoes. The owners speak some English, but, of course, it helps if you also speak Spanish. Full hook-ups next to beach cost 200 pesos; full hook-ups on the second row cost 100 pesos. You receive a small discount for staying weekly or monthly. We meant to stay a few days and ended up staying a month. When you get to the fork in the road, BEAR RIGHT, or you’re on your way to Yavaros, a quaint little fishing village where there’s hardly any place to turn around a big rig. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Wonderful location on Sea of Cortez. Beach camping with FHU. Friendly staff, and best seafood restaurant in Sonora. No nightclubs or noise at night. A bit inconvenient to find. Make sure you use electric system protection. Environment is beautiful, but harsh on your RV. We camped here in a Motorhome.
