There are two parts to this campground and we were in the smaller one with no activities for children. Some sites have beautiful lake views. Sites are flat and easy to get into. Washrooms and showers are old but fairly clean. There is laundry available but we didn't use it. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We camped at the Rossport campground on Lake Superior. Our site was a gravel site that needed levelling due to a downslope on the back end of the pad. The electric pedestal was far enough away to require an extension. There is a water fill up, but no sewer dump. The dump is at the other campground at Whitesand Lake 5km east. Our site 13e had a nice view of the lake. Plenty of mosquitoes already, so bring bug dope if you plan on staying outside. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Beautiful campground, we would definitely stay here again! Access for our motorhome was very tight and we did scratch up the side on the trees a bit but it was worth the stay. Very nice hiking trails to the falls. The washrooms and showers were very clean and roomy. The sites were quite private with large mature trees, which would be the only drawback if you like sun as you wouldn't get any until late in the morning. Overall, a very pleasant experience. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The provincial park is beautiful, scenery unlike any other point of Lake Superior. Falls are nice and a good hike. Campground is rustic and could use some work on the roads. Our site was supposed to be very private (rated on the reservation site as such) but when we arrived we encountered problems. Ours was one of only a few right on the lake with a supposedly private beach, far from the public beach. To our surprise many people came right up to our chairs, fire pit, and picnic table and sat down as if it was a public area. When we told them it was our campsite most were rude and ignored us. We roped the area off to prevent this after being told we did indeed have the right to our privacy by one staffer. The next day a different staffer told us to remove the rope and we'd just have to put up with it. I showed her the description of the site from what I had printed out and she was very ignorant about it. She then came by frequently to "check up" on us to see if the rope was back up. It wasn't. I wrote to the park afterward and never got a response. We were thoroughly disappointed and it ruined the whole 5 days we were there. We were made to feel like criminals who were under surveillance and I'll NEVER return. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
